All fixtures and results are entered externally to which we have no control over. While it saves time, the lack of control can prove to be a bit of a pain in the backside. I can't even edit any scores at a later date (so if the site was unavailable and someone emailed/text me their predictions, they can't be entered when back online. Either then, can I fix it so I win...)
I naturally assumed predictions/scores would be the end of 90 minutes, as with any football pools but the Germans behind the product have needlessly complicated it.
Having sought clarification on latter round predictions, it appears total goals - including extra time AND penalties are taken into consideration, as so in 2006 final;
Example: Final 2006 Italy - France
1 – 1 (after extra time)
Penalties 5 - 3
Result 6 - 4
So you'd have needed to predict 6-4 in the 2006 final to be credited with total points.
Here are more examples;
example: quarter-finals 2006 England - Portugal
0 – 0 (a.e.t.)
Penalties 1 - 3
result 1 - 3
example: quarter-finals 2006 Germany - Argentina
1 – 1 (a.e.t.)
Penalties 4 - 2
result 5 - 3
example: round of 16 2002 Korea Republic - Italy
2 – 1 (a.e.t.)
result 2 - 1
example: quarter-finals 2002 Spain - Korea Republic
0 – 0 (a.e.t.)
Penalties 3 - 5
result 3 - 5
Hope that explains well enough. Basically every goal, including extra time and penalties are taken into the equation.
