See I'm genuinely not being funny because I know you're making an honest point here and I apologise that it's you who gets my rant but... it's this attitude that I just can't get my head around. You can't see anyone in the whole world of football being able to keep a side up when they're not even in the relegation zone. It's unbelievable.
People are going about Palace being dead good now and definitely taking us over because they're some sort of unstoppable juggernaut (we'll ignore that we're supposedly the worst team ever and they couldn't even beat us at their own place for now) and yet THE SAME PEOPLE tell us only Allardyce can save us. So which is it? Are Palace awful, only saved by the genius of big sam and his team of 2000 sport scientists, or are they actually good enough to stay up with someone as dreadful as Roy Hodgson in charge? It can't be both, and yet people want to push both narratives because they simply won't have it that we're not completely doomed.
I've seen people making up what the form table says about other teams, making up stats about how bad our form has been, saying that we're worse than a Hull side who had won once in 18 games and only had about 9 players and all sorts of other bizarre stuff. WHY? It's as if people are getting some sort of perverse glee from telling everyone how awful we are, and would secretly love it if we just sneaked 17th place so they could be proved right and laud this absolute charlatan of a manager for maintaining the same points per game ratio as a rookie manager who looks like a bear in headlights and gives teamtalks by beating his chest.
