Is MOYES The Man ????

For me, the most important thing Moyes has brought to Everton is STABILITY.

Some may say he can't get us to the next level and some might think that he can (I fall into the latter group coincidently) but I think he is ABSOLUTELY the right man for the job.

Are there some "better" managers out there. Sure there are. Could they do more with Everton that Davie has done? Possibly. Could they take us to the next level? Possibly.

But I've always gone with the policy that "If it isn't broken, don't fix it."

We've made steady improvements and with the budget that he's had, it's been nothing short of miraculous. For every VDM, there's been a Lescott and a Cahill. Kroldrup? How about Arteta and Pienaar? He's built this squad up that it's so much better than what Walter Smith had that there's no comparison. None.

I think it's great that we've had him at the helm for as long as we've had when other chairmen sack managers yearly. I applaud Kenwright for sticking with him and a I believe that the relationship that Kenwright has with Moyes is 2nd to none in the Premiership when it comes to chairman/manager relationships. I'm also guessing here that he has a good relationship with the players as we rarely hear "falling out with the manager" stories. I believe the players respect him and he respects them in turn.

For me, I really couldn't see anyone else in charge. He IS the best man for the job.

Moyes is certainly the man for me. I think his detractors severely undestimate how hard it is to crack that elite group considering the financial advantage they have.

Agreed Bruce.

Give Moyes 40M+ a year to spend and he'd be in the top four yearly.

Quite. It will probably give the detractors ammunition to bash Kenwright with but there are a number of teams below us that have spent far more than us to achieve that minor position.

He's probably one of the best men we could hope to lead our glorious club. He's done a fantastic job on limited resources.

The only thing I have against him is sometimes he's slow to change things when it seems glaringly obvious something needs sorting straight away.

Other than that, I'm quite thankful that we've got him.

I'll give him a B+ b)

Absolutely the right man. I don't believe there is a better manager than Moyes that we could realistically entice to Goodison, and even if we did it would probably be to our detriment.

Compared to virtually every other Prem manager outside of the top four, he has been more astute in tactics, motivation and spending. My only concern is that there are five or six clubs below that seem to have the resources to outspend us right now. Moyes, in my opinion, has performed above what should be expected and will probably need to do that again next season.

This is a simple one really. From the day he took over to were we are now is a million miles apart. He's done an absolute fantastic job. The players he's brought in for the money he's spent. At the beginning of the season i used to think

"will we stay up, or is this the year"

Not any more, now im hoping to break the champions league. Even with the compatition around spendind fortunes. He's done a fantastic job........up to now.

Thing is.........on radio phone in's an forums theirs a lot of talk about the next step an how to get their.

So the Question is simple really........IS MOYES THE MAN ??? to take us their. I'd like to know what the people on here think.

Pearsonly i love moyes, he's brought back a smile to my face. As an evertonian i can hold my head high again. I think if he's backed properly he'll become a legend at our club. Even the most sucsessfull ever. Theirs not many people id swap him for. I really think great thing are on the horizon. As long as we give him the right money.

So their we go people.........IS MOYES THE MAN??

Without question yes. The real questions need to be aimed at the board and their financial commitment to letting Moyes achieve what he is capable of.

I wouldn't swap Moyes for any other manager, as long as we can match his ambition we be a winner.

If you have to ask that question, then there is something seriously wrong with you. Moyes is beyond doubt the man to take us on and on to bigger levels. He is building a superb squad and with the little money he has its bound to take longer than if he had plenty to spend. But for some really bad injuries to key men since jan we could have quite easily got 4th place again

Moyes has allot of good points and a few bad. i would say he is the man to move us on as a team. he comes across as a man who is ego free and will see his own faults and try and correct them.
What he needs is a quallity assistant who is more tactical minded than moyes to bring him on another level which i believe he is capable of.

well you say that moyes does very well with the level of financial support to date and speculate that if he got more more money it would be ironic that the level of expection would rise?

I soundly pointed out that the level of pressure in the Premier league is massive no matter what level of funding you get and should have further pointed out how high we set our examples for this club.

Untie your knickers mate.
no i don't say that, you are misreading my original post. there's nothing ironic about the level of expectation rising, should greater funding be supplied to the manager. however, whereas i can't forsee moyes leaving under the current regime unless he chooses to do so, it is under the circumstances that would be likely to be prevailing at any point where he would be furnished with the much greater level of funding he's indicated would be needed to compete with the "big 4" that he is most vulnerable to being replaced. which some might view as a little ironic, although perhaps you might not.
the fact that you keep wittering on about pressure only serves to confirm that you misread my original post, i've already told you in a previous reply that "i'm not suggesting that moyes can't handle the pressure".
but, as i think you may be trying to say, it's not something to get your knickers in a twist over.

I think Moyes is the man, the question is will he stay around if he isnt given what he needs here. I just BK is ready to hand over the chequebook.
