Is Rooney now finally playing like we thought he would?

Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
I remember when Rooney first burst into the England team whilst playing with us I thought he was nailed on to be one of the best in the world. He stormed the Euros, got a hat-trick on his United debut. Then he seemed to go backwards, losing the Roy of the Rovers'ness he had with us.

This season though he looks to be finally getting back to his Everton self, and on current form could replicate Ronaldo in getting 40+ goals this season. I can't see United winning the Champions League, and probably not the PL either, but in a World Cup year, a good tournament and it wouldn't surprise me to see him crowned World Player of the Year.

Have to agree Bruce. I think he thrives on being the main man. He was with us, he is with England and with Scholes and Giggs on the wane (no pun intended) and Ronaldo gone, he is at OT. Don't know what his limit is really, but he may also thrive off the captain's armband. At international level I'd say he deserves it more than Gerrard anyway

hehehe lets hope he gets sold to real Madrid or Bacra for 80mil pounds plus and we get out 25% of the sale 20Million for klass John hunterlaar could be just wat we need :)

Always thought he would become one of the best in the world, just like I do now with Rodwell. I hoped in Rooneys case it would be with us, but it was not to be. I do hope we get to see Rodwell develop into that level as a player while he's still with us.

By the way I'm loving watching Rooney play at the moment, deep down he's still one of us. That won't stop me from taking the p once in a while though.
