Is the Top 4 now the Top 2 or Top 8?

I was having this discussion with a mate earlier. With Liverpool being [Poor language removed], and Spurs breaking the Top 4, and Man City no doubt about to do it, and Arsenal generally doing nothing spectacular these days, is the Top 4 now just the Top 2, with Chelsea and United the only likely contenders for the title?

Or has it now become a Top 8, with Chelsea and United still at the top, but with Arsenal, Spurs, Man City, Everton, Villa and Liverpool all with potential to finish in 3rd/4th place, and all (bar one of course) very likely to be playing in Europe whatever the circumstance.

I can see all of them finishing within 8th place of the table in years to come yet.

Hasn't it been the top 2 for years mate? It's six years since anyone but Chelsea or Manchester United won the title.

I'd rather wait to see what happens in the transfer market before making any predictions on positions. Obviously I do think the 8 teams mentioned will be in the top 8 positions. Mourinho's pending arrival at Real Madrid might kick off a mad merry go round in the transfer market and with a world cup in the middle who knows.

Top 7+1 is what it is now.

This. Or Maybe top 6.

Chelsea, United, Arsenal are a given.

Cant leave megabucks Citeh out for some strange reason being its the 1st time they finished in the top 5 since the 60's I think.

Liverpool will always get lobbed in.

Spurs are the cockney new boys the press love...even when they've been [Poor language removed].

Villa and Everton the press can take or leave.

TBH I can see the Top 4 next year ending up as Chelsea, United, and two of Arsenal, City and Spurs, part of me thinking Arsenal may drop out. I can't realistically see any teams getting into the Top 8 besides the ones I mentioned, the closest would be maybe Fulham or Birmingham.

Yeah, the teams you mentioned seem to have the edge as far as the top 4 is concerned. Will be funny seeing the rs go a second season outside the CL places, and if this volcano keeps going in Iceland that will mean a severe drop in attendances at analfield

err, The Top 4? What is it now? Same as it's always been, it's the Top 4, can't hide from that fact. If it was the Top 6 it would be the Top 6.

Top 7 is the Top 7, and so on...
