Just saw this on Bluekipper, thought id post it up here:

On Saturday 14 May 2011, Isabella will be on the starting line of the 2km race with hundreds of other children aged between 3 and 8 years old, while older children will be lining up for the Bupa Junior Great Manchester Run.

Isabella was born 10 weeks premature at Saint Mary’s Hospital and spent the first eight weeks of her life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. At 18 months old, Isabella was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and given a very slim chance of ever being able to walk. Defying her doctors Isabella took her first steps at the age of three and hasn’t stopped since. Now aged seven Isabella continues to attend Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for treatment and will be taking part in the Mini Run on behalf of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

Isabella’s mum, Julie Neville, a patron of the charity said, “We are very grateful for the care and treatment that Isabella received at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, the doctors, nurses and staff are amazing. Isabella is really excited to be taking part in the run, especially for a Charity that is so close to her heart.”
Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity is raising money to ensure continued excellence in treatment, care and research at the hospital – improving the lives of children throughout the North West and beyond.

The support of the charity means that the hospital can provide additional resources that make life easier for patients and their families who use the hospital.

The charity has three main areas of work:

• To support research projects to improve our understanding of children’s illness
• To help create an environment that’s more child friendly
• To provide state of the art equipment for diagnosis and treatment

I think its great, and shows how much alike she is to her dad.

Awesome.

Say what you want about Nev on the pitch, but he and his wife are a class act. I've read about his wife's charity contributions before. No Wag crap in the Nev household.

Everyone who knows Neville says he is the most professional player on and off the pitch, and thats just highlighted here.

Happy to see Isabella is defying the odds. Too often a doctor's diagnosis may "doom" some, but luckily children have the imagination and resilience to amaze us. The only thing missing from this story is a picture of Isabella pointing like her father.

Phil is an athlete who's taking care of his family and his body. No fuzz, no paparazzi. He will be in the same mold as Ratcliffe. He's more blue than red in my eyes. Hail Phil :)

If we lost phil when is playing days are over, we'd be the loser. I'd want to seriously get him in our set up. He has that old fashioned view of football, and if he could pass this onto our kids, they'd have learnt a lesson for life.

Pip is a nailed on future boss of our club!and i for 1 wouldnt mind if he cut his teeth in management with the blues.Him and his wife are a genuine couple, who are a refreshing change to the usual wag crap you see in paers.
