That SAF can bring a player from another club and improve them. Shame its not worked with Rooney. (n)

Dont think you can improve natural talent. You can bring out the best of players but the likes of Rooney, with a terrible attitude problem, he can only help or hinder himself. What is for certain is Rooney is no better now than he was at Everton. Infact his attitude has become worse under the strict SAF.

His temper is his weakness. Players will exploit it given the chance and eventually refs will look for signs of temper when none exist and will penalise him on his reputation. SAF hasn't got that through to him, and until he does he will be a liability to any team he plays for. At the moment I'm glad we took the money.

How much money have we actually got for him at present? I am not certain we have had all of what United owe us.

I'm not sure what the final amout was, it depended on so many things. I'm not even sure if we still have any to come. Welcome to the murkey world of football finance.

Someone wiser than me on this site will let us know.

Did Rooney throw the ball at Dowd? Or did he just try and get the ball back to his team mates so they could get the free kick taken quickly? Don't think he needed to send him off, just typical of ref's wanting to get in the spotlight.

It was the manner in which he threw it Ghost. Rooney absolutely launched it with aggression. He should also be further punished for his actions afterwards. Anyone remember Earl Barrett beng sent off at Newcastle for gently rolling the ball away underarm? Rooneys was not in comparison.

What has always annoyed me mate, is the fact that United wanted money off us for Howard, Neville and Saha. We should have told them to take it off what they owed us from the Rooney deal. They wanted him so badly, yet they dictated the terms.

That is true, but why did we not dictate the terms? They wanted Rooney and Moes was reluctant to sell. That is what lets our club down to much, we are far too soft when it comes to wheeling and dealing. Now that is a FACT!
