New Keeper

New RB Holgate Mina Digne

New RW Gbamin New CM Gordon

Richarlison Kean

Bench: DCL, Gomes, Delph, Gomes, Branthwaite, Keane.

This scenario Is only 4 signings away. It can all turn very quickly if the right players are brought in.

What happens to Davies here please?

It seems like another season of underachieving and over paid ineptness (and it was) but we have seen the emergence of what looks like two great players in Gordon and Branthwaite and we now have a world class manager who seems to be backed by the board (the next few weeks will really show).

Imagine we get some quality cover for Digne?
Imagine the board actually backing Carlo?
Imagine getting a world class right sided attacker?
Imagine Moise Kean turning in to the next Rom?
Imagine getting some steel in midfield, maybe even Gbamin?
Imagine less injuries?

Even if only one or two of those happen we have a real chance at top 6 if not 4 with a lot of luck.

Listen Im not some Everton supporting noob who gets carried away when a great manager flashes his eye lashes at us, but even though this season was dire I feel like we actually have something good starting here. Now listen haters gonna hate but Im genuinely interested (note I didnt say, excited, happy or hopefull - quick roads to disappointment, sadness and despair) to see what the next few weeks and season might bring.
Love the positivity

I hope you’re proved correct. Sometimes I think it’s going to be an uphill struggle for Carlo but then something tells me we’re just a couple of top notch players away from the big time.
We have Richarlison, I think most top teams have at least two superb players backed up by good players

It’s only doom and gloom if Brands/Carlo blow the window. I think we’ll do what we have to do. Otherwise bringing in Carlo was pointless

Yeah totally agree. If the board mess this up and Carlo walks then thats it we will never return to the glory days. This is our last chance to turn this [Poor language removed] around.

There are some really good sides in the league right now. I’d expect Spurs and Arsenal to improve next season too.
We are nowhere near Wolves or Leicester lately either.
A top 8 finish will be incredibly difficult next season. And top 4 talk is just nonsense.

I disagree but only because its taken both Leicester and Wolves only a couple of seasons to make that jump. If we get the window right and get a few extra bits of luck we could ne right in the mix. Im not saying itll happen of course (Everton that) but I feel like we are at a pivotal time right now.

id say I’m similar. We have the makings of a decent back line if a right back can be found. We have three good young strikers who could potentially all get double figures (if Kean can knuckle down and start a lot more games). We have a manager who knows what he is doing, and we are slowly shifting our players who don’t want to play for us (Schneiderlin), or who are too old (Baines) and are replacing them with younger hungrier models like Gordon.

If a few injuries can clear up (Gbamin, Holgate) and we add two or three good players (RB, CM, RW) we could find ourselves quite quickly with a very good first 11 managed by a very good manager. A position we have not been in for a very long time.

Davies takes so much flak its mad. I feel like he has been really let down by the club. What is he? box to box? ball winner? I just feel like he has fallen through the cracks and takes all the blame for it. if he can work out what he is and we get a real ball winning midfielder back then he can be reasonable cover for the long term.

Let down by the club? He was given a monster contract renewal for sweet FA. The club has been too good to him, that's the problem.

Davies is a limited attacking midfielder who can play averagely on the inside right position of a midfield three of he is surrounded by a quick right winger and right back with a defensive mid behind him. These are the only conditions he can do ok in, which is why he looked ok under Koeman for a bit and then ok under Allardyce.

We don’t play that way though, and in any other position he’s too slow to play and therefore looks terrible.
