"I've been misquoted" - player speak in transfers

After Cesc's about turn from his come and get me plea (Wrighty on talkshite yesterday sent him up good and proper yesterday, it was well vicious) I thought, when a player says something what does it mean. So with your help,I thought that I would try and compile a list. So, lets start....

"I'm glad to be linked with x team" - come and get me

"I'm still a player of x team" - Well, OK, but make me an offer and my ears will open up to a potential offer.

I'd love to play in x league someday" - Actually, I'm settled here, but if you were to come up with an offer, I won't simply turn it down. My ears are open.

My agent told me Stoke and Middlesborough were the only clubs showing interest, so I told him to do one.

The quality at this club was a big factor in me signing - me and the other lads here in the England camp have got a boss card school up and running.

I can learn a lot from the gaffer who's played at the highest level - the ****'s got pictures of me with a schoolgirl and I couldn't turn him down.

[Scottish footy] It's an honour to play for Celtic/Rangers with their support base and history - I'm here for the Champions League football, if you play me against Dumbarton in january in the p1ssing down rain I'll have the players union on yer.
