How so? Out of curiosity
@barneygumble it is just the nice gestures that the club and the fans have demonstrated towards James and his Colombian followers. The situation at Real Madrid was different. In their forums some fans were not convinced of James value and were very negative towards him from the very beginning. When James was first presented as a Madrid player his wife, at the time, was bullied for her looks in her social media accounts by Madrid fans. Some forums were just not very welcoming to Colombians and at times some people were just odious.

Correct. At the time, Madrid had just won the Champions League and they blamed James for Di Maria leaving even though Di Maria was already gonna leave before James was signed. He was always deemed overrated and had to prove himself every game

Also, Isco being Spaniard made it hard right away to be accepted.

But that actually changed quickly. The fans at the Bernabeu loved him due to his golazos. I would say at the end of the story, most of the press and fans agreed that James deserved more than what he received from Zidane

Madrid have possibly the worst ‘fans’ in the world. Their treatment of older players getting a bit beyond their prime is disgusting, the likes of Raul, Casillas and even Ronaldo getting booed after winning the lot is nothing short of a disgrace.

I totally agree. It baffled me how they treated club legends such as Casillas and Ronaldo so it wasn't surprising their treatment towards James. I agree with @UptheTofees that at the Bernabeu fans eventually end up loving James golazos and would have liked for Zidane to have played him more, but what fan base wouldn't he really is good. My personal opinion is that Madrid fans base can be very harsh towards their team and can easily turn against it at times when the team needs them the most.
