It's to hard to sign real quality with out forking out a lot of cash in Jan unless you're going for someone coming out of contract.

There's a couple of players I'd love us to sign who are coming out of contract in saying all of that.

I've got no problems playing kids, we get to see if they're up to it and they can save us so much money, I'm fine with the youth choices we've got at CB. In terms of wingers though we really don't have anyone who appears ready or right to step up.

I won't lie though I'm still mad that he said similar things last week then didnt play Garbutt though.

odd one on browning - you'd think we have another CB/RB lined up if willing to let him go. hibbert hasn't been that good ffs. browning was arguably more impressive in his couple of cameos.

Having said that, Jagielka, Stones, Distin, Browning, Alcaraz, Galloway, Hibbert (if it's urgent) is quite a lot of defenders really.

We don't need defenders. Stones will be back, Jags and Distin are doing alright again and I have no doubt that Martinez will play Browning and Garbutt more regularly when the time is right. January is a bad time to buy. I'd prefer we sit on some cash and blow it on a class wide player in the summer.

I believe we should save our money for summer again this January, unless we sell a player so we need to replace him or a real bargain appear, we don't really need anyone, we have a squad for a reason. I really hope Roberto will go after players already for summer, there are lot of quality players with ending contracts, who could really improve our squad. Plus in addition to that I hope we will once again spend majority of our transfer budget on a one player, I think it really worked out with McCarthy and Lukaku. Memphis Depay please.

urrrrm you do realise we have no left winger(sept kev but then no right).

Our wingers are not good enough if kev gets injured again we loose all bite on the wings.

I agree spending big isn't really a options in January weather we want to or not but there are a few good players out of contracts in the summer that we could sign on a pre contract then buy for a nominal fee(McGeady style) that would really improve our squad I belive.

But we didnt really spend any of the war chest this summer?! Installment plan on lukaku, free barry, cheap besic, cheap youngsters, free etoo.
