It's come from teams figuring out that they need to put two or three men on Gomes and Gylfi, mate. It leaves Gueye with most of the ball. So yes, when he's having to try and get us forward I readily accept he's hugely frustrating.

But Gomes needs to up his game again, same with Gylfi. There's reasons for their poor form which aren't all their doing too, just like Gana. When it worked earlier in the season, it worked well. Gana did his thing, Gomes did his. We need to get back to that.

True but then you wonder would we ever get that sort of fee for him again? He needs upgrading at some point after all.

Ascacibar
@Zatara

Fingers crossed. Ascacibar is just like Torreria. Or that Nandez @ Boca.

This is very interesting...

Certainly looks similar to torreira and i love that type of player.

Looks an upgrade on Barrios as well...and at Stuttgart wont be expensive.

Brands clearly knows his stuff and i imagine whoever he goes for will be excellent.

How much is he supposed to be valued at?

Not sure on value mate; not seen many rumours with a fee. Maybe £20-25m?

Benefits to selling Gana

1 - Get a good fee for a 29 year old

2 -- Bring in a better player (trust brands)

3 -- Move towards silvas desired formation

4 -- Bed a new player in early for next season

5 -- Less of a rebuild to do in the summer

Negative of selling Gana

1 -- Its midway through the season and a new player may need time to adapt.

So Anichebe says he would play for Everton for nothing. Love the commitment and all that but i think i will pass on that thanks Victor. Find it a tad bit too hard to get overly excited over your 17 goals in 9 years tally for us sorry.

Worth the risk considering what little we have left to play for.

Also no guarantee that we will sign somebody with equal or superior quality

I like gueye and think he's boss at what he does

problem is for me I don't actually think we need him ( sounds weird ) but he's most effective against the teams we don't have possession against ( the good teams ) and we don't win with him anyway as were just not good enough overall, would rather sell him for a good price and get a more all rounded player to help in the more important games against clubs like us who we keep slipping up against

Buy buy buy.

Im also guessing Brands limits himself to watching only 4-5 youtube videos per transfer window, otherwise hed feel compelled to buy too many players.

The other part I would say is that we are very dependant on Gana currently. We are very dependant on a Gana type player, to prevent the opposition playing.

I saw a post on here recently which I thought was very pertinent when someone suggested Manchester City or Liverpool don't use a Gana player. The response which was spot on, was that they have a number doing it. If Gana breaks up play 10 times a game, they have just got 3/4/5 players in their side to break up play 5 times a game. In fact it's become an essential part of playing for Liverpool, being able to do that. They don't use a stop gap.

As I've said before, if we got 30 million for Gana I would be very happy. If we traded him for Barrios I think it would also be very good. It might get worse before it gets better though as we get exposed when he's not in the team.
