Of course it does! Unless Barcelona have waived their buy back rights, which may or may not have happened.
He's our player, we own him, we pay his wages, so maybe it's a case of us just giving Barca first refusal and saying "Do you want to use your buy it back clause because we want to move him on?"

Sorry but that just doesn't make any sense. It doesn't go against any "freedom to move". A contract is a contract. A player can't just up and leave if he's under contract, only when that contract comes to an end.Just because they "can buy him back at an agreed fee" doesn't stop us selling to others. We could get £20m from say Milan in the summer, but Barcelona could get him for £12m at the same time. (or whatever the agreed fee is). If the player chose Milan, he chooses Milan. Whether it be January or June.
It goes against freedom to move, completely. The only time you'll get something that stops that is competition rules (like can't play for clubs in europe if they've played elsewhere before etc).
...seems to be growing rumours about Keane from Burnley but it might be the initial one being repeated. Contract up in 2018, his cub might have to balance cashing in now or staying above the relegation zone. Have to admit to not having a view on the player.
Not at all. It's all out there and actually very very simple to understand. But for some bizarre reason some are really struggling with it!!@Hong Kong Phooey the contract expert
It's all in the public domain ffs!you dont have the contract in front of you to be fair
i think we should set our sights higher...
Koulibaly / VVD /Gimenez all are class players and belong in premier and champions league winning sides.
Keane doesnt strike me as being of the same calibre.
I'm sure I read something at the time that Barca couldn't just buy him back to sell him on. Had to stay at Barca for at least another season or something like that.
Why because he plays for Burnley?? Maybe he should go somewhere for £20m then we can buy him for £40m, will that be better
