Probably adds up to what his contract and signing on fee were.
I do actually agree wwith it though and did at the time.
Gana is a proper 'everton' signing. Comfy move for him and a drain on the wage bill

Minimal cost and while Gana is not the same Gana we had before he left, he's still a huge improvement on any of the midfilders we had before. All at minimal cost.

Still think we're lacking a creative 8/10 though who could perhaps sit higher with Gana being a pester/terrier and Onana being a rock.

Posted by the Esk on Twitter, a good read and we all need to ask the same questions.

Again we have said this for years, Brands did come with the reputation of bringing in South American talent, but instead concentrated on Barcelona... massive fees and wages to boot.
Why are the so called smaller clubs hoovering up a lot of the talent ? I've said this before but all our scouts need is a sky sports remote and a sofa. Onana is an exception but he is here on a large fee and wages. Thelwell should maybe concentrate on the Brighton or Watford scouts and before anyone says, they are in trouble due to the amount of managers they've sacked...a little similar to us.

Not sure if you're aware but we have a pretty poor history with work permits at Everton!

Players from that part of the world are always going to have work permit issues coming here, most other clubs have link/satellite clubs they can send these plays to so they can work around this issue, we don't. Also as much as I don't like Brands for various reasons I really don't think he had that much say over a lot of the transfers. He talks about going to the board/owner with players he had found for the club only to be told that the position had been sorted already.

Agree totally, £100million for him now.Hes on his way to a top top side.

Frank will be fine, two top class strickers, Dominic Calvert-Lewin fit ,Maupey in form.Dwight in form.
AG settled,DG .
We need a good CH Mina out ,Kean out,Holgate out,Davies out, go find time.

Thats a £100million war chest.
Another strange poster

Took a real break from football on all levels during the World Cup.

Didn't engage in any aspect of the World Cup and at the same time took a break from social media, newspapers etc when it concerned domestic football. Proper 4 week break from it all and feel all the better for it.

Therefore I'm about 4-6 weeks off the pace with transfer news. Has there been any credible links in terms of sales or purchases? What's the likely transfer budget for January? 100M? spend what you raise?

Apparently we're on the verge of two exciting deals that will surely go a great length to keeping us in the league: contract extensions for Iwobi and Gordon.

My two issues here are that for someone naming Argentine, Brazilian and Ecuadorian prospects as if theyre common knowledge he uses the example of:

"Kendryk" instead of Endrick. The Brazilian wonderkid going to Madrid.

Also it was widely publicised that we were after Moises Caicedo before he was linked to Brighton.

Why would someone know about random players in Argentina and who they were linked with...but not know the name Endrick or that Caicedo was linked.

Im sure i could pull out a bunch or names as well now with hindsight.

Why doesnt he write about who we should sign now...not from 2 seasons ago.

Looks like we are bidding 25 million for Danny Ings.

Signing Gana made sense.
We needed a new midfield immediately and Gana was a cheap option who already knew the club and the league.

Of course, we need to look out for the best young talent around, but they don't all succeed either and sometimes they can block the path for the young players in the academy.

If there was an easy fix then I think every club would already be doing it, not just Everton.
