Have to admit I wasn't a fan when he was behind Tim. Just goes to show he didn't get much of an opportunity then to show what he's made of and how much he cares for Everton. He's been catching more which obviously is the way to go too.

With that being said I hope we bring in an immediate number one but at a bargain. That narrows it down quite a bit.

They ARE wasting money if they are just looking at general statistics in a match. Other than the basics of team A scored more than team B, football is not a statistic driven game, never has been, never will be.
Did you read the article arsenal a team with a turnover in the hundreds of millions who make ten of millions of £ a season & have done so for over 10 years we're paying £500k per year to a data analytics company just so the company's didn't share the data with any other football club.

They then paid over £2 million to purchase this company & brough the operation in house.

Are you seriously telling me your right & they are wrong as this example isn't in isolation how many stats men do you think work at each club in the modern game.

Yes, thats exactly what I am saying. Before they took the operation in house they were in 4th place every season. Currently they are... oh, 4th!

It may give a club a very very slight advantage in terms of cold hard facts like a tall defender etc but unless there is some statistic to account for mentality etc then its all just nonsense.

People overthink football way too much.

Things a million times more complicated than football can be made clearer through the proper application of detailed statistics. This is amazingly naive. Football isn't magic, it exists in the real world and can be studied as such

You said they are worthless I've just given you a tangible value based on an example of an actual club you clearly dont understand statistics or the depth of the data analysis within the modern game

Arsenal would be better spending money on players rather then wasting it on pointless rubbish like stats, we all use to laugh at Rodgers for making a issue out of stats and winning the passing game.
