Joel Robles

but koeman says he wants 3. I'd prefer 3 myself tbh, just in case another iain turner situation happens as i haven't heard anything about hewellt being too highly rated. Ideally we wouldn't have to worry about that this summer, but hey, if we got an offer say of £7m for robles, it'd probably be worth taking it given his contract situation. Some players are worth keeping on for such a small fee, but a sub keeper is hardly ever going to play ideally so in this case it'd probably be better to accept.

Maybe we'll get a 3rd keeper in jan instead, a very good backup hopefully, we've got enough work to do this summer as it is ha

If a squad player doesn't want to be here, best get rid rather than have him stinking up the dressing room.

He's not going to be a regular. He's two injuries away from playing games. Nah, if he wants out, get him out.

If Koeman wants to be an everton manager he needs to get used to buying a random teenager goalkeeper every transfer window. It's one of our finest and oldest traditions.

yep, always done it, and yet i never actually hear them get anywhere near our team. Hewellt seems to have been 3rd choice for years, so of all these random keepers, none of them have even displaced him either.

We have 3 keepers. Obviously we need to sell one. Pickford is going to start week in, week out so it's just who sits on the bench.

Both of the others are good enough for that so it just comes down to who's willing to stay, how much we're paying them and how much we can get by selling.

I have no preference, myself. If Joel wants to leave and stek doesn't that's fine by me.

I dunno mate

I think Joel is the better bet in my opinion

Think about it this way, if Pickford gets hurt and is going to miss say 10 games, who would you trust more over that period?

For me, Robles gets the nod there

I'd be keeping Stekky as third choice and having Robles play in Cups etc so he gets enough minutes to satiate his hunger. If one of them has to be booted, then I'm afraid it's Maarten

Never ever once felt secure with him in nets.

Who? Joel?

Maybe it was because he replaced Howard, but I wasn't too worried with Joel in nets after his first iffy season with us

Thought his shot stopping and positioning wasn't bad. His distribution was mince, but I felt he was alright in other areas

Again, decent back up keeper for a club with our aspirations, but not a starter

Yeah Joel. I've not felt properly secure since Martyn sadly.

Deserves to be a number 1 somewhere, will do very well in spain.

We should target someone like Alex McCarthy as our back up I think.

I mean we offered Joel a contract.

I think Joel has been slightly better than Stek (though Maarten played amazingly in his first few games) but it's close enough to make no odds.

Boot the one who doesn't want to be here, keep the one who does.

I agree, theres not a vast difference between the 2, as you say Robles is defo slightly better, but your talking 2 or 3 goals over a season better.

I think I said at the start of the Summer that if we sign another keeper and Robles hangs around hes an utter mug, thankfully hes seen the light.
