Joel Robles

Really isnt a vast difference between Robles and Stek, both utterly average.
there is, stecklebeaut is utterly attrocious, we have to hope pickford is a huge success and doesn't get injured if he is the back up to him, if robles was back up I'd be sound with that, but koeman has treated him poorly and the lad wants to get out and fight for a number spot, perfectly understandable, but leaves us with very poor back up options

Still laugh when I think about him steaming out of his box to take Sam Vokes clean out against Burnley last season.

Still laugh when I think about the penalty he took at Upton Park in the FA Cup maybe 4 years ago. Ran up from about 10 metres outside the box and thumped it into the bar so hard thought the goal was about to fall down.

From the Echo - time 16.05....

Koeman, it is believed, is ready to sell the former Atletico Madrid man and discussions over signing Vitesse's Elroy Roon have already happened.
Roon, 28, would cost the Blues around £1m and the experienced shot-stopper could provide back-up for new No1 Pickford and competition for Stekelenburg.

ROOOONNN-EEYYY

Another Dutch keeper, can't be worse than the Stek?
Good look to Robles 10 clean sheets last season in completions will do well where ever he goes,
Pickford has to produce the goods now, as two Dutch elderly keepers will not push him that hard!

Roon is 28 mate, not exactly elderly.

Not good enough is he Joe. SELL while he can bring us in a fee. Stek ok to be a no.2. Joel will want to play but isn't close to being good enough to start.

Stek is ok as a number 2 if Pickford plays every single game of the season but should a situation come up when Pickford is out we need someone there who can actually still play, Stek has been past it for a long time. As for Joel he was good enough to start for us plenty of times last season, this season we will have a lot of Europa league games and League Cup games, we cant play Stek in those but we could play a keeper who will accept he wont be starting over Pickford.
We need another keeper because Joel wants to leave, which is fair enough, Joel has to understand he wont start in front of a player we spent 30m on and we need to accept he wants to go and source a replacement
