Yes he is streets ahead with his distribution, searching runs forward and overall ball play but still not defensively which is obviously the most important part of being a defender. Jags and Distin are much more experienced and better at that so I wouldn't say it evens it out but he will surpass them very soon just not yet.

Yeah Jags/Distin definitely know their game better than Stones, so I'd pick them over him more often than not. The difference isn't huge though, and as you say he's getting better all the time. So if either Jags or Distin needed a rest then the first man I'd look to is Stones. If he wasn't in the team I'd def have him on the bench.

I suppose I jumped the gun saying we should loan him out with a recall clause. I agree with you that he would be better on our bench than on loan for the sole reason that he will learn a hell of a lot from Jags and Distin whilst training with them and will also know of our style of play and what is required of him. I would love to fast forward a year as I think he is going to be the complete CB and the best this country will have seen for many a year. I thought Rio Ferdinand lacked defensive qualities but was excellent with the ball and read the game as good as anyone. Chuck a cross in and he was as vunerable as a league 1 player but Stones is going to make him look a poor player. Problem for Stones is will he get the recognition at little old Everton or will the press insist he should be playing for a so called big club before they pile on the praise.
 


Dont know who got MOM as I was at the game, but by the look of the cameraman following him around at the end of the game it was JStones.

Excellent choice if it was him.

Nope, Baines bizarrely on Sky.

Realistically, you could flip a coin between Coleman, Stones and McCarthy.
