About this issue with Lescott not saying anything in response to the speculation...remember that he has admitted in the past that he's a shy person. It very well could be a factor here...anyhow, just something to take into consideration.

As was mentioned in the thread for yesterday's match against the MLS All-Stars, he was all smiles at the end and appeared quite happy holding up the trophy with Cahill.

If he does go, he leaves on good terms IMHO. It's not like the time he's spent here was fraught with stories of drunken nights out at strip clubs. He's been a solid pro and I hope he stays.

If the rumour is true the citeh will next bid 22mill it will reconfirm what I've always said... They won't pay 25mill or above and don't think he's worth that. Reject the next offer and they wontbe back.

£22m should do it.
Honestly, Lescott's a good player, but he ain't irreplaceable and with the sort of kitty it'll give us, we can bring in 3 other quality players that would improve the team overall.

The transfer market has gone absolutely crazy this year because of Real and Citeh. We won't ever an offer this good for him again.

That's not the point, we don't want to or need to sell him.

And also, did it not occur to anyone that all other players prices will have been hugely inflated as well? Turner for 8mil FFS?

Sorry but if we were to sell it woud really have to be for stupid money

He is irreplaceable. Hes a goalscoring CB who can play LB, you cant replace his value to the team.

You even say the market is crazy, so after we had bought a CB and LB, we would be possibly worse off.

Better the devil you know and all that.

Fulham are asking for £12m for that utter yarddog Hangeland. Thats how stupid the market is.

Not for sale City, unless you want to break the magic £30m.

Do we need to strengthen our squad? Yes? then we DO need to sell him, cause we ain't got a pot to piss in otherwise.

It's not a question of wanting to sell him - of course, no club wants to lose one of it's best players. But there comes a time where you have to take the money on offer if it means that you can use it to improve the squad overall. Either that, or Kenwright has to find us another Middle-East billionaire.
