Good enough to be 2nd choice RB at the club, hopefully in next couple of seasons his all round game will improve enough for him to be 1st choice when Coleman drops off. If not we will buy a new player and he'll stay an adequate back up.
Great post mate. You summed up in 2 lines what it would take me half an hour to write.

You could probably post this in any of our young player threads. Not there yet, but hopefully one day will be, but in the meantime okay as back up.

I agree that there is a few of them it could be applied to. The problem comes when you have to play too many young players together. If they all get a taste at various times we'll see them grow. Kenny and Holgate had a shocker against West Ham but when they've been the only one in they've held their own.

Coleman shouldn’t walk back into the side when he’s fit at this moment in time. Doing a very decent job at the moment Kenny, remember when people said we should’ve kept Martina instead?

Nobody said that.

Actually there are one or two I could actually imagine saying it but none would be those who should be taken seriously.

Kenny has been fine like our other young players. Some just like to stick the boot in regardless though.

I don't think Kenny was as bad against West Ham as most people are making out. Going forward, along with Digne, I thought he was our most effective player. Defensively, Anderson will do no worse against some better and more experienced full backs than JJ this season. Holgate did indeed have a stinker, especially second half. But there were also some games last season when Kenny and Holgate did well alongside each other. It helps if they aren't playing alongside the likes of Williams and Martina.

However, overall I agree that, in the ideal world, you would pick and chose the games that the youngsters play, and you wouldn't want to start with too many at the same time, especially in defence.

I like him, i really really like him.

Will be our first choice for years.

Scouse as feck

If Kenny can sustain 6-7/10 level performances then I think he should keep the shirt.

Coleman hasn't been the same since his injury and cant have him on the bench for the next few seasons when he's on a bumper contract.

This will be quite a tussle for the right back position this season, I hope Kenny takes it off Coleman...

He’s been the best out of he, Davies, and DCL, but I’m not sure who that says the most about. Kenny still has a lot to improve on but you can see the growth.

in my humble opinion if any blue wanted to keep martina before kenny then football is not for them.maybe they should try show jumping or that fast walking race thing as I wished on many occasions last season that martina would

Wouldn't you rather Coleman got his moho back? .JJ not quite ready IMO. Coleman back to his best is surely the better option. He deserves the right to try and find his form every bit as much as promising young players deserve the right to show what they can do.
