2020/21 Jordan Pickford

At this point, with the continuing witch hunt, gotta ask yourself wether Pickford may as well have just intentionally tried to snap VVDs leg and end his career anyways. He’s getting the same treatment.

It’s gonna finish him I feel, he’s already under plenty of scrutiny for his general demeanour as is, this row will just tip it over the edge and then the kult will claim with glee that they’ve broke him

All this is just to avoid the fact that liverpool let him play on and then let him walk around the entire pitch when he couldn’t play on.

We know from experience how much that exacerbates an injury.
Guarantee he won't be out for as long as they're claiming. We've all seen acl injuries before. You don't try to carry on after a bad one of those and you don't walk off the pitch. He didn't even seem to be in that much pain.

These lot and their media goons really are pathetic

I sympathize with the initial reaction. They lost their best player and injuries suck, especially knee injuries that often have long term effects on the quality of the player moving forward.

But this has gone beyond reason. In 2014, Falcao got tore his ACL to an tackle from behind in a French cup game vs a lower division. I was sad. Sad for the player and for Colombia and angry with the coach for playing him vs a 3rd division team. At no moment did I hate the player that actually injured him. It happens. I doubt a 3rd division player wanted to.injire falcao. Also, 2014 was a special team for us. We had a chance to do something in a tournament that we hadn't been to since 1998. We may never have another team as good as that one and the damn tournament happens every 4 years. He was at that moment our best player and we are far from a football superpower.

I say that because I feel that I had more reason to be angry. Liverpool is a super team, they play every year. They have money, name, allure. They will be fine no matter what. They are treating this as if we ended their franchise and it's complete BS. They need to grow up.

When will this cowardly club known as Everton start biting back fgs.

Perfect chance to create a siege mentality at the club instead we let that scummy lot create a false narrative that will see us screwed by referee decisions in future games and that lot give the constant rub of the green.

Mate, everyone is laughing at them. Let them continue to be cretins, not demean ourselves and endorse their crying and shaking.

I think the top line is a bit OTT, but agree with the narrative being pushed. No way we aren’t getting every tackle we make scrutinised this weekend.
Getting made out to be a dirty team, and honestly our longest standing players, likes of Coleman and Keane, have barely picked up any red cards ever from what I can recall.

True mate although I still feel we have a duty to publically protect our players who the media have thrown completely under the bus these last few days.

Look at how Wenger crying about Johnson led to us never getting penalties. The RS and their media acolytes know exactly what they are doing and we should be in there throwing a counter punch.

I dont want it being tit for tat but a simple "injuries happen in football and neither Jordan or Richarlison set it out hurt an opponent so the media need to turn it in" statement from the club or Ancelotti would be more than welcome.

Mourinho would be in his element you saw him after the Spurs - Utd game "Utd can not cry about VAR decisions".

I haven’t seen one media outlet condemn the death threats he’s received either yet. These supposed broadcasters, media, pundits etc... constantly bang on about players mental wellbeing’s and all other injustices in football but it only applies when it suits them. Their ‘malicious’, ‘intent’ and ‘assault’ claims have stoked the fire and created a nasty rhetoric around the whole situation. He’s receiving quite the opposite to what Son received after his retaliation challenge on Gomes.

It’s fair to think about VVD, his season is over and his head will be shot and it’s crappy for him, hopefully he can come back as decent a player as he has been.

On the other side at what point do people consider the mind set Pickford will be in? He’s already dealing with the pressure of his recent poor performances, he knows our own fans are not happy with his performances of note, he knows the manager isn’t best pleased with his performances. The media already making fun of him, now he’s made public enemy number 1 with shouts of ‘malice’ and ‘assault’. Him, his girlfriend and his family have been hounded with death threats. God knows what mental state the lads in. Imagine if he topped himself over this? The media rats would go into hiding but they would be 1000% to blame. The likes of Chris Sutton and Nobhead Savage, bum players from the past spouting their dangerous rhetoric on a BBC broadcast channel, it’s disgusting.

This is now beyond pathetic, okay they've lost a great player to a poor challenge, but proved by slow mo, by one of the few, it seems sane analyst's, a goalkeeper by the name of Rob Green. That Pickford, as he should have, had his eye on a high ball into his area, by then it was too late to alter his course, he spread himself and VVD's leg was planted. Horrible, but accidental injury. No one likes to see players injured like that, but where was this outcry for Gomes ? I can think of loads of players being injured like that but this has gone national, every man and his dog now has a narrative to slag Everton off, to call them dirty, to paint us as a dirty team. Last night it was Klopp, we have two injuries and they have not been punished, sorry is he unhinged, Richarlison by the letter of the law will now be banned for three games. Then Whingaldon, we are too dirty in derbies sorry have you ever watched any previous derbies ? The one you played in had Robertson tackling Allan from behind, not to mention Mane on a couple of occasions, VVD leaving his mark on Rodriguez and DCL in the first couple of minutes, or go a bit further back, Stevie G, your ex captain.
Think it's about time our PR machine burst into life and started defending our players and our club, the silence is deafening.

We should not dignify their garbage by any official replies. Carlo will be ready for any questions at the pre Southampton press conference.

Forget the media. Pickford knows he challenged for the ball, end of story. Even Carragher pointed out there was nothing malicious. If only we could say the same for Robertson on Allan.

Tbf, I had a complete rupture of my ACL and I played on it the week after, once the swelling had gone down. I didn't last long till it collapsed again, but when I did it, there was a lot of pain, for about 2 minutes, then it was just a strong ache. Drove home, ice on it, in to work the next day etc. Went to the hospital from work and they just said it was a sprain. Was only by going private that they spotted the rupture on an MRI.

Basically the fact he walked off, doesn't mean it is any less serious.

None of my team mates lost sleep over me being injured though, they're not babies.

This is it...

Klopp fumes everybody listens, he does this for reasons above & to deflect his team failed to beat us...

Ferguson did the same & got favourable treatment from refs its psychology...

Pickfords challenge although mistimed was not deliberate or in retribution, so all the fume is totally unjustified & uncalled for, reports & quotes are exaggerated over ealaborated & way off the mark & distort the truth...
