If we sold Pickford for £40mil and then went for Bazunu he may be 'average' in the premier league next season. But could become better than Pickford over the next few seasons.

Only issue is if City would sell...or loan or keep.

I don't know if you've seen the Gazza doc recently on BBC, but Pickford's treatment by the media is like the highest praise in comparison

I watched the Gazza documentary and to be honest I didn't feel much sympathy for him. Saying that he was as thick as two short planks and was badly let down by the people around him and not least his own family.

It was the media who had a massive contribution to his downfall, they ended up all getting done due to phone tapping, its shocking really the things people do for money and still do to this day

You know that's one of my biggest gripes with Everton, it's as though we're a feeder club for the top 4. Someday surely, especially in the swanky new stadium we are going to have to hold on to any stardust we have to challenge for honours?

The media doesn’t shock me but why so many on GOT after the Chelsea game have been talking about how they’d sell Pickford and Richarlison is beyond me.

I loved seeing two huge performances from a couple of our best players. It made me think ‘I hope we can keep them next season and build around them’ not ‘I hope we get some good money which Mosh and co. will go buy dross with’.

Hes a class keeper mate, with a mile of headroom, 10 -15 mill does it i think, or maybe a loan with an obligation.

Southampton hold in interest in him for the summer i believe.

Uruguay 2014. Gerrard plays a back header straight to Suarez to score yet all the media could come up with was ‘if he’d had Terry and Cole instead of Jagielka and Baines we might have won the world cup’

The England team has got better since Southgate started picking the actual good players rather than who the media told him to pick, but when it was Hodgson Sven and Cappelo it was laughable.

Remember Sven taking Theo Walcott just because the media thought it would get a few headlines, then he didn’t even play him. Carragher Upson and Warnock going to the 2010 World Cup over Jagielka Lescott Baines who were all brilliant at the time

A whole qualifying campaign in 2010 with Gerrard on the left wing, day before the USA game and the media is shrieking for Gerrard and Lampard to play in a 442 with Barry being dropped, sure enough Capello did it and we were rubbish.

Then there was Hodgson taking half his Liverpool team to euro 2012 because he wanted to get back in the media good books. Martin Kelly ffs. Then after Barkley had got him to euro 2016 he decided before rhe tournament he’d play Dier and Alli in midfield because they were doing well for Spurs despite barely playing for England previously.

It’s no surprise that Southgate has had success when he’s stopped listening to the kopite media and actually just picked the likes of Rice, Kalvin Phillips, Pickford Chilwell etc. players from different clubs. Despite this though the two most popular England stories are always ‘should Pickford still be number 1’ and ‘why isn’t Alexander Arnold first choice’….funny that isn’t it.

His girlfriend especially who was shagging Piers Morgan and phoning up the press on Gazza's going on, notice how she made sure she married him before she left him permanently
