Honestly though, which other decent goalkeepers play that many long balls in any game? We have our smash the ball to the flanks tactics that probably wouldn't suit De Gea... It wouldn't make him a bad player.

Looking for those killer angled fizzed balls...it's not like DCL or Oumar aren't willing runners.

Not as good recently. Maybe he should just revert and boot it down the middle so DCL can grapple with the 2 or 3 defenders marking him and lose it.

Been an excellent signing and our best player all season. Made a mess of the 2nd goal but it happens from time to time with any goalkeeper in the world. Can't help having our defence in front of him who can't mark the opposition on set pieces properly either.

Also think anyone criticising him for not saving the penalty is being unfair. He's already saved about 3 this season and that's from making his mind up early and trying to guess where they're going to put it. It won't work everytime and Milner probably took that in to account when putting it down the middle.

The lad made a mistake - one of the only ones he's made this year, unlike some I could mention who are making the same mistakes week in week out! Advocating he gets "slaughtered" for doing so is plainly ridiculous!

Just typical for me tbh. Liverpool are crap at set pieces, vvd a new record signing and our steady goalkeeper who rarely makes a mistake. Of course he was going to screw up and miss it and vvd was going to be there.

Its called sods law, just like last year when lukaku was scoring goals every game and barkley was dictating games. Then the derby came and...nothing, apart from barkley doing his best to get sent off you wouldn't even know they were playing.

Pickfords 23 he's still a young lad and a kid when it comes to being a goalkeeper. Hes going to make mistakes and do stupid stuff now and then and unfortunately because he's a kepper it's going to cost us goals. Regardless he has been fantastic for us this though and will only get better.

Does no one remember Howards last few seasons? Or stekelenberg last season? I'm personally made up with the kid
