2017/18 Jordan Pickford

Been an excellent signing and our best player all season. Made a mess of the 2nd goal but it happens from time to time with any goalkeeper in the world. Can't help having our defence in front of him who can't mark the opposition on set pieces properly either.

Also think anyone criticising him for not saving the penalty is being unfair. He's already saved about 3 this season and that's from making his mind up early and trying to guess where they're going to put it. It won't work everytime and Milner probably took that in to account when putting it down the middle.

Are people criticising for not saving the pen. Beyond belief!!!! Think we all agree he fluffed his lines on the cross but every keeper in the world makes mistakes. Seems a mistake by Pickford is bringing comparisons with Robles ha ha . Pickford is a cracking keeper but will make a couple more mistakes this season like every keeper but it doesn't justify unreal, bordering on the pathetic comparisons with Robles. Football is about mistakes. Every goal scored and conceded is caused by a mistake somewhere along the line. There is no such thing as a perfect goal.

With Pickford, his biggest weakness is crossing. Sometimes, he over-commits and tries to come out for crosses he shouldn't, then, crosses he should come out for he'll stop on his line. He sometimes lacks judgement in that sense. Luckily, it's something which can be rectified with the right coaching. He was guilty of this at Sunderland too. But, it must be noted he's still very young. His shot-stopping has always been top-class. I'm sure he'll improve this area of his game as he gradually matures.

Most goalkeepers don't peak till late 20's, sometimes even 30/31. I think Pickford was a long-term investment for you, obviously 30m brings huge pressure & expectations, you're well within your right to expect results instantly, but I think within 2/3 years he'll develop into a top, top goalkeeper for Everton.

But, last night he was at fault, no getting away from it. Still think it would have gone in even if he stopped on his line, but we'll never know. Put 20 quid on Everton on a score and win coupon for something like 250 returns, it seemed possible at 1-1 and I rejected a 50 quid cash-out - My fault for getting greedy.

Someone made a good point on twitter about how Liverpool were getting a lot of set pieces. Towards the end of the game. And we were struggling to cope with there height advantage. So maybe Pickford has made his mind up to come for them

[Poor language removed] happens, even the best keepers in the world make s couple of mistakes every season
He's never going to be the best keeper in the world
