wasn't it dunc who was on crutches during the altercation?I'm pretty sure he had also been convicted of assaulting a man on crutches long before he signed for us

so jose baxter runs liverpool and has forced everton to give him a contract, his drug dealing has really took off, fair play to him
Apparantly notwasn't it dunc who was on crutches during the altercation?
I think it's a bad move.
We're a football club first, one that hasn't won a trophy for 22 years.
As much as we like to cling on to small successes/PR exercises for the club, I'm of the belief that Everton need to concentrate on the football, and leave the community stuff to EITC and the clubs directors.
We're supporters of the club, so our natural instinct is to support but whatever way we spin it, Jose Baxter is taking a contract and another's place in the U23 squad. Every minute he gets, is a minute less for Tom Davies v2. It's also a very clear irrefutable statement that there's a tolerance at Everton to drug abuse.
It's jobs for the boys.
Baxter got a contract at Oldham because Stubbs had a word.
Baxter got a move to Sheff United because Weir.
Baxter got a move back to Everton because Kenwright/Unsworth.
All the above isn't conjecture.
Everyone deserves a second chance, especially with the disclaimer of youth but there's a line and a point when you need to wake up.
Let's get it right - he's a professional footballer here. He's had every opportunity in life.
My instinct is that the lad is a wrong'un. He's spat in the faces of too many. Suspended twice in nine months at 23/24 years of age.
All that said, I trust David Unsworth. I just hope there isn't external factors/pressures involved here due to Baxter's influence in Liverpool.
Firstly, our trophy drought is completely irrelevant.
Secondly, what do you mean by "Baxter's influence in Liverpool"? He's hardly Pablo Escobar is he?! He's not some drug baron with gangster cronies holding Everton at gun point. He's a young irresponsible lad who has been an idiot on a few nights out. He's not the first, he won't be the last. Hardly uncommon.
Yes he's had chances and he is extremely fortunate to be getting given this lifeline from the club.
But any assumptions about his character are exactly that. Assumptions. Not one of us know what issues he has or what reasons there may be for him to make such stupid decisions. I'd trust the club and Unsworth over anyone on that.
I'm a disgrace for saying people who have had chances and let themselves down, who have attacked the club and coaches when they left and is not happy with this deal. I'm a disgrace, I have standards sir.
If you criticised Rom for what he has said in the press and social media, you can't praise this deal as well. Baxter has said a lot worse about Everton than Rom on Twitter.

Lets bring in Marcus Bent, Mark Ward and others?
I'd much prefer the club to concentrate on winning.
Your worry about his influence on the U23 players is valid. But I'd argue that it could be the reverse. He is a living, breathing cautionary tail for these lads. Our youngest ever first team player who’s hit rock bottom. Having a more senior player like Baxter in the mix who has to tow the line completely or face getting booted out, I don't think that's going to make these kids any less disciplined.
The only real downside I can see is he may take game time from other prospects. But again, this is something I'd trust Unsworth to manage in the right way.
The point was, everything the club should be doing is to compete
I think it's more the bringing up of Hall that he's referring to tbf...
Whilst at the club??
1) Pretty sure the E in EITC stands for Everton.
2) It really isn't.
That's conjecture.
Oh yeah, I forgot about him coming up through our academy system, then going off the rails whilst still a young player, and dropping out of the game. Oh, wait...
I hear Man City want some more bandwagon fans... Also pretty sure this isn't the only thing preventing us from being champions.
This. He was in the first team at 16. He's now 24/25 and in the u23s. Don't think the young lads will miss that.
@Philw and @Brennan have come out swinging there. Were you opposed to the £200,000 we gave to Bradley's family then ?
