KEVIN Keegan is widely believed to be on the verge of quitting Newcastle United after his relationship with owner Mike Ashley became untenable.
Rumours currently sweeping Tyneside suggest the Magpies manager decided to quit the club this morning after a series of disagreements with Ashley.

The pair are understood to have held a series of discussions after Newcastle only signed two players on transfer-deadline day despite Keegan's admission that he needed "four or five new signings".

However, with Keegan currently at Newcastle's Darsley Park training ground and the club refusing to make any comment, the former England manager's future is unclear.

Keegan threatened to resign on at least three separate occasions during his previous spell at St James' Park, only to be subsequently talked around.

does that mean wise is taking over?

There'll be the usual clamour for dullard Shearer to take the reins. But even Shearer isn't stupid enough to take it. I think they'll end up with Wise and look for someone long term, probably a foreign manager. Maybe even Billic would be tempted for the money.

Are you suggesting that Bilic is motivated by money ? Surely not, as that'd be an outrageous claim to make !

The guy almost made us bankrupt, i know it was offered to him by means of a contract, but i'll never forgive him regardless of the circumstances... oh, and he was a [Poor language removed] centre half too .
