Player Valuation: £40m
I've been impressed with what I've seen of Honda for Japan. According to his wiki listing he moved to CSKA Moskow last year for 6 million euro. He's only 24 and is incredibly versatile, able to operate at left back in midfield or upfront. He has a 1 in 3 strike rate for the national team and almost a 1 in 2 strike rate for the team he played for before he made the move to Russia.

He scored vital goals in the Champion's League for CSKA and, so far, he has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist in 3 World Cup matches, so he can cut it at the highest level.

Inamoto and Nakata demonstrate that Japanese players can do very well in the top leagues. Celtic haven't faired badly out of their oriental imports either.

I'm not sure how it would sit with our Thai sponsors, but you'd imagine that having Japan's star player in our squad would help to create interest in the club in the far east. Wasn't that why we took Li Tie and Li Wei Feng? I actually think that Li Tie didn't get the credit that he deserved when he played for us.

I was in an American bar in Shanghai a couple of years ago, and framed on the wall was an Everton Shirt with Li Tie on the back.....classic..

Listen pro scout, instead of spamming, have a look in the Japan thread from last night or put it in here:

You're as bad as tribal footie lad.

We have had Ferrari, there absolutely must be a player named Ford out there. What other car manufacturer names are shared with players?
Holden?
