I think the issue is that we bought Maupay rather than a competent striker; I think this is further exacerbated by our failure to sign a striker during January.

Difference is Maupay cost us £15 millions and Brighton let us pay on the drip.

A good level CF outside of the super rare finds costs you £40+ millions these days. Richarlison cost Spuds £50 millions to warm their bench and look at what Newcastle spent on that Isak fella £60+ millions was it ?

Would have had to pay a good chunk up top and pay big wages on top of the fee.

Then dont spend it. Use Simms or Cannon.

Or get loans. Balogun, Raspidori, Icardi, Milik (a few strikers out on loan), then there's wingers etc.

You're living in fantasy land.

We didnt have the funds to sign a top striker.

Its easy to be an armchair expert blaming the DOF for not delivering us a top finisher without looking at the reality of our finances.
