There has been a long running vendetta against the owners of Shorrocks Hill Club in Formby, they own a string of pubs/bars and quite a few have been firebombed. Been a few shootings related to it - car chase with shots being fired along the Southport coast road for example. Somebody has obviously upset somebody else! Kenny D is just a neighbour of one of the protagonists.
