If he can maintain his end of season form he’d be a brilliant buy for us. Wasn’t entirely convincing for the entirety of the loan but with time he got better.
Prior to that horror injury at Chelsea I was convinced he was going to be one of the very best in the world. He had trouble getting playing time after his recovery at Chelsea which took him out of the game for basically a year, a loan to a disastrous Stoke side, and a loan here where he finally started truly showing his class in the last 3 or so months. At 24 centre backs aren’t going to be the finished article but as the team became settled he looked increasingly like he was becoming that. Should be doing all we can to get him in imo.
