But, minutes later, Knowsley North and Sefton East MP George Howarth slapped down Ms Cooper, telling her to “spend more time worrying about development of her own town centre”.

Isn't that precisely what she's doing?

Isn't that precisely what she's doing?
Exactly. The development for Skelm is equally pressing and, more to the point, is in line with the regional spatial strategy where Skelm outranks Kirkby in the hierarchy of towns earmarked for major regeneration. In fact, Kirkby doesn't even rank!

Poor old George, he's not having a good time at the moment. No sooner had he been rumbled on his expenses claims he then was forced to give up his extra parliamentary job with Ladbrokes as their adviser, now he's being slated as being part of Knowsley's corrupt scheme to buy up people's houses so that Tesco can make a massive profit.

It's a good job he has that £65,000 pa nose bag he still retains from the public or he might be in dire straits.

'Corrupt', and 'Corruption' in consecutive posts. Maybe take your evidence to the 'bureau for sleaze'?

Oh that's well in hand, I believe. The Minister in question, John Denham, has recognised the concerns re Tesco and Knowsley Council's actions - which go against the instructions of the Inspector who conducted the Inquiry that no substantial action should be undertaken by the applicants whilst the scheme is being determined. The evidence is all over Kirkby town centre and has been brought to the attention of the Minister. Job done. (y)

What evidence?

Diverting a brook away from the site where the building would take place. Knowsley Council gave the go ahead for Tesco to do that and that was in contravention of the Inspector's wishes...something she's been made aware of.

What allowance of preparedness is there? Allegedly CPO's have been issued in preparedness due to the fact that if the plan gets the go ahead, admin and legal issues need to be rolling so as not to further delay the scheme.
It might be a fine line, but I really cannot see Tesco allowing themselves to undermine their own plans due to impatience. Too big and too clever to not have an excuse/reason for supposed ''corruption''.

None. That was the instruction from the Inquiry. But they always push the envelope (Tesco) and get away with it because in most circumstances it's not a high profile case like this one. They've tested the patience of everyone on this scheme. We'll see how that's played itself out with the decision.

They haven't been sent out. Knowsley are holding a meeting to 'discuss the principle' of sending them out to affected residents. Technical language for the pump is being primed for a quick decision by the council on their preparedness to boot people out of house and home if the scheme gets the nod. Long process ahead for them even if they do get up and running quickly I'd imagine given previous challenges to CPO's in this area. (Pencil in a stadium build starting 2020!)

Corrupt: adjective. Guilty of dishonest practices; lacking integrity.

Are you a surgeon because your weapon of choice appears incredibly sharp and never dulls. Never an opportunity missed to push the "No to DK" agenda. I mean, do you ever have a day off? do you ever have a lager? do you ever have a day where it is impossible to access the internet?
The absoluteness of "None" I find hilarious by the way. How can you know so well?
We have been over this before, and I was "eulogising", whatever now?
