Phil Neville Superstar

Player Valuation: £35m
Latest news:

Fernando Torres' agent has refused to commit his client's long-term future to Liverpool.

Although the Spain international is contracted to the Anfield club until 2013 Rafael Benitez's summer exit has raised question marks.

Torres is currently in South Africa preparing for a World Cup semi-final against Germany, although his form to date this summer has been below par.

The 26-year-old was thought to be a target for Barcelona, but agent Jose Antonio Martin has ruled out that possibility after they signed David Villa.

Martin believes, if anything, Torres will remain in the Premier League, but not necessarily with The Reds, sparking rumours of a possible move to Chelsea.
"Barcelona have signed David Villa and now they want to invest the money they have in other players," he told the Daily Mail.

"It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool.

"We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club."

Oh how I'd love to see the day he leaves the RS.

Nah. He'll stay he is a kopite - can't see him leaving them.

Why do the RS ruin perfectly good players? always crocked!

Im a little anoyed they have appointed a good coach - in all likely hood dumb luck - but he can do well with no budget and unlike Ming he has an eye for a player.

Now if they sold him to pay off the debts, that would be class.

They may only get one good player if they sold him with the rest going to serve the interest in the debt, nevermind the debt.

Updated news on SSN:

Fernando Torres' agent has denied making the comments published in the English press on Monday regarding the striker's future at Liverpool.

Agent Jose Antonio Martin reportedly refused to commit the Spain forward's long-term future to Anfield and indicated he could move to another Premier League club.

But Martin insists he did not make the remarks and is adamant 26-year-old Torres, who is contracted at Liverpool until 2013, will remain with the Reds.

"For many months I have not spoken to the England press because their quotes are totally false," said Martin.

"Now is not the moment to speak about this issue because Torres is focused completely on his work for Spain.

"After the World Cup (player-agency company) Bahia Internacional will possibly meet with the player but the truth is that Fernando has signed a deal with Liverpool which is for the present and the future."

It was also rumoured that Torres was set for a make-or-break meeting with Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson in the coming days to discuss his future, but Bahia Internacional sources have dismissed this claim as "simple speculation".

Hes coming to us. Someone said something on the Arteta stayin thread. Ill try to find the quote.

*Edit: Here it is

nevilles statement is true. in an attempt to steal lcab's crown, let me state categorically that i have it from a very good source that torres will be unveiled by moyes on july 12th, the price being cash plus our rights the idea of moving to kirkby.

I dont believe it though.
