Last Film You Watched

Watched two horror films recently, A Quiet Place, thought was excellent, great tension. And Rewatched my favourite Vampire film of all time 30 Days of Night, great setting and idea to have a Vampire film set there, atmospheric, very violent and great ending. Can really recommend this one.

30 Days of Night is very underated imo.

The premise of setting it in a small community that doesn’t see daylight for a month every Winter is very clever.

Josh Hartnett is very good in the lead and you really feel their terror when they’re pinned down and being hunted by the vampires.

The sequel is dreadful though - Dark Days.

Yes that's what I meant by the setting, very original idea, the vampires are vicious. Agree with the " sequel " if you can call it that, absolutely awful and nothing to do with the original. Reminded me of the The Exorcist the Heretic, absolutely gash compared to the original . Though if you ever watched The Exorcist lll, now that should have been the sequel, superb film.

My favourite is Vampyros Lesbos ; lesbian vampires and a psychedelic soundtrack to pass those dark winter evenings. Features Soledad Miranda :

Coincidentally, it features Dennis Price of Kind Hearts and Coronets, one of my favourite films - he was in a fair few horror films towards the end of his career. This article details his somewhat chequered life.

Sounds like a Russ Mayer production will have a search later.

I bought the 4K disc of this a while back, so must get round to watching it - last time I saw it was in the cinema.

aye, i watched it a couple of times in the 90's, then again on our home-projector with surround speakers last year or so...the film is even better than i remembered, and its weakest part, the flat Keanu Reeves, wasn't as bad as i remember either. Incredible scene at the end. We only have the DVD too, let us know how it looks in ultra-HD!

i've read the book so maybe have a slight bias to the story, also read Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, that puts Interview With A Vampire a close second in favourite vamp films.
