Last Film You Watched

Had a romantic weekend with Mrs BlueInNZ. It involved watching two games of football same pitch, 3 hours between games. Lucky for me there was a really nice, boutique cinema not a mile away. She picked the movie to watch between games, gentleman that I am. So we watched "6 minutes to Midnight". I quite enjoyed it.

I hope there was Kiwi Dip

alex ferguson: never give in. documentary/film. great watch. alex ferguson actually comes across really well. some great footage from years gone by. one thing that stands out is that the bigotry at rangers was deeply rooted from top to bottom. fergie really was a ruthless manager, his dropping of jim leighton for a cup final replay showed he done whatever was needed to get results.

So I'm not a Queen fan at all, and this hasn't changed my opinion but I did actually quite enjoy this, although it felt a bit sanitised and by-the-numbers compared to stuff like 'Sex & Drugs & Rock and Roll' and 'Get On Up' but its solidly done.

The Live Aid scenes were excellent and the insult 'you treacherous piss flap!' is one for the ages.

On Prime.

Watched Molly's Game, true story about a game of high stakes poker, with Jessica Chastain, one of my favourite modern day actress.
It's a really good film, might help if you understand poker but even if you dont it's good drama. One of the players is rumoured to be Leonardo DiCaprio, it's one of the things with high stakes poker, there are people who can lose 50k a night and it wont hurt, but there are also a lot of fools who think they can play and lose money they cant afford.
I used to have bad gambling problem years ago so for me personally its was poignant.

Watched this the other night and enjoyed it, but the scenes with chastain and Elba really took away from the film.

The celebrity player is Tony Maguire according to the internet.

People like Di Caprio, Damon and Affleck were regulars, but that character was based on Toby Maguire apparently.

Watched it the other day and you`re spot on with what you say. The cast was perfect and the scenes where they were outside the space ship were just stunning. You felt like you were watching something that had really been filmed in space.

Unusually for an American film, they just cut the end " dead ", which I also thought was a brave thing to do.

A lot of people won`t like it though, as it`s achingly slow.
Great film. I never really sensed that it was slow. Just very well done.
