Last Film You Watched

Anyone watched Army of the Dead yet on Netflix? Gonna throw it on in a bit. Reviews for it have been good so far but a bit long. I was a big fan of Snyders reboot of Dawn of the Dead so I’m hoping it’s decent
Watched it yesterday.

My only advice is don’t bother.

The best part of the whole film is the opening ten minutes, which lulls you into thinking it’s going to be watchable.

The premise of the film is good, but the whole thing is a mess and most of the cast look like they don’t know what’s going on half the time.

The Zombies either look like the day time crew in Dickie Lewis’s or Olympic gymnasts, whose kids have gone mad with a make up set on them.

As @jaycee says, not even Saint Nic, riding a zombie panda can save this one.

To late mate I’ve already seen it. It wasn’t the best but strangely I’m a fan of the genre so I’ll usually let a lot slide within it as it’s a pretty rediculous premise to begin with.

Based on the reviews I was hoping it was going to be much better than it was. Shame cos it could have been so much better

Anyone been a cinema since they.opened again? I went too see Nomadland yesterday, about an old woman who lives in a van, nomadic lifestyle. Played by Frances McDormand, well known on GOT from her roll in Three Billboards.
It's a good film, lots of cinematography but also talk about emotions, personal feelings, enjoyed it
Great actress, but she seems to be doing the same character every film these days.

That said, her Olive Kitteridge was the greatest performance by any actor ever, so she can be forgiven almost anything.

I bit the bullet and finally watched Die Hard since I'm constantly told it's a classic. What a load of tosh that was.

I watched it for the first time a few months ago.

Wouldn’t call it tosh but I was sitting there baffled at the love it gets from people.

Movie for a time and a place and if you didn't see it before you've watched every other action film under the Sun I'd get it.

It'd be like watching every Simpsons episode barring Season 1 and then watching it last.

Yeh I’m sure at the time it was great but it hasn’t aged well. Was more a comedy than an action film. Acting was terrible all over the shop. Safely say I won’t be bothering with all the sequels.

I always thought 3 was the best one - but as a 10 year old the original was amazing! Can't actually say I ever watched it since...

I enjoyed it in parts but did often find myself drifting. Even had to rewind for one death scene as my attention had wandered and suddenly there was a dead character on screen.

There's a decent 90 minute zombie flick in there somewhere but it'd need an editor to cut big chunks. It seemed full of pointless characters such as the lad who was with the Youtube guy but decided not to go and sub-plots like the relationship between Scott & Cruz that nobody cares about.

Also thought it was pretty ropey to have a clunky #MeToo revenge subplot after spending a long time with the camera leering over topless zombie showgirls for an extended period - didn't quite put as much focus on any other zombies in that opening montage. Seemed a bit tone deaf especially given the whole Chris D'Elia issue that added a few million to the budget.
