Last Film You Watched

Arrival. (2016)

Ten gigantopods out of ten. Great big slice of 'Contact', a bit of 'Sphere', nod to Tarantino, element of 'the Abyss', 'Interstellar', 'Solaris', 'Bladerunner'.
Loved it.
Great movie, remember going to the cinema for the premiere. Read the book few years before “the story of our lives” by Ted Chiang, a book of several short stories. One of the few movies that lives up to the paper version. Amy Adams and Forest Whitaker, great actors…

Track him down in 'Ghost Dog' ;)
She's ace in Arrival.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom

Yet another WB script dumpster fire. They killed off the last DCU films with The Flash, Shazam 2 and now this by announcing a new DC Universe slate.

Clear that it's been re-written about 8 times with Amber Heard stuff, the end of the DCU and James Gunn takeover not helping.

It's a 2 out of 5 movie - some good parts Aquaman and his brother buddy cop vehicle and Black Manta who is a great villain but the first half is just terrible and mess. It's still better then the last couple of Marvel efforts but that's not a high bar anymore.

I think Superheroes need a break from constant yearly output with Disney behind Marvel.

It'd be an interesting film getting Keaton back as BW and him kickin ass down the social security line with the geriatrics. Kind of a hatton garden film but in reverse. There's a ton of stuff, get the flash working for US postal, imagine getting Magneto in to fix bridges around the world etc. Feel good stuff, no jeopardy, just what 'you can do for your country' kinda ideals.

You watched that over... Christmas??
It actually makes sense if you think about it. The title: ‘Come and See’ is taken from a verse from the Book of Revaluations in the bible.

Christmas starts in the being of the New Testament and Revaluations is the end…
🤔

Am I making sense or am I just rambling on like a nutter here?!

Watched this last night, on the rec of some on here - X.

Proper horror film, that borrows off the likes of the Hills Have Eyes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

A group of budding porno film makers, hire a remote country outhouse on a farm in the middle of nowhere to make their porno. Bad stuff happens.

I found it be a bit of a strange film, as it starts off really well, then loses its way, becomes a bit boring and then really picks up again.

There’s a few nasty bits along the way too.

It’s billed as a slasher film, it isn’t, it’s a horror film.

Have you seen Pearl? It's the prequel
