Watched this last night, on the rec of some on here - X.

Proper horror film, that borrows off the likes of the Hills Have Eyes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

A group of budding porno film makers, hire a remote country outhouse on a farm in the middle of nowhere to make their porno. Bad stuff happens.

I found it be a bit of a strange film, as it starts off really well, then loses its way, becomes a bit boring and then really picks up again.

There’s a few nasty bits along the way too.

It’s billed as a slasher film, it isn’t, it’s a horror film.

Great film. Think I said at the time, it’s got the aesthetic of Chainsaw Masaacre or a 70s horror, but there’s also a lot of Pyscho in there. Some shots are identical and think they even talk about the movie at one point.

Someone mentioned watching the prequel Pearl, and it’s very different, but also great.

Bit of movie trivia, they wrote and shot Pearl immediately after shooting X, cos they were stuck in New Zealand due to lockdown, so just pitched a prequel to the studio, got it green lit and made it, using the existing sets, same crew etc.

I enjoyed that Rebel Moon. All the slow mo was very jarring though

Just as good as X and just as unsettling, as she defends into full blown madness.

It was a bit weird watching a different film on the exact same sets !

Knew I was gonna enjoy it, when Mia Goth was ‘kin a scarecrow in the first 5 minutes.

Dunno what that says about my movie tastes.

The Wonder, English nurse - played superbly by Florence Pugh - travels to an Ireland still reeling from the Great Famine to monitor a girl whose family claims exists only on manna from heaven.

Cast were excellent, story moves at a good pace an excellent piece of movie making.
