Society of the Snow, on Netflix.

The story of the Uruguayan rugby team whose plane crashed in the Andes. Been done before in the 90s movie ‘Alive’, but this one was really excellent. Tipped for best foreign language film for the Golden Globes and Oscars, and can see why. Great acting, beautifully shot. Gripping and emotional.

How does it compare to Alive mate ?

Having read the book and seen the film, I thought the film, didn’t do the book justice.

Ages since I’ve seen Alive, and haven’t read the book, so not much of a point of comparison im afraid. But this was very good. A lot of the survivors were involved in some capacity, and it’s very character focussed.

Speaking of Aliens, the Alf reboot is happening...

Th furry little wisecracking Melmacian who loved to eat lots of p.ssy (by that I mean actual cats) is coming back.

No spoilers, but apparently the plot is going to be a lot more darker.

They should cross it over with the Alien universe and Alf ends up on the Nostromo locking horns with Ripley. I'd watch that!
