Last Film You Watched

Finally got round to seeing Legend (2015), finished just a moment ago.

Funny little film I thought. Obviously not in the 'haha' way!

Tom Hardy is fantastic for a start. Like off the chart good. But it's just not quite enough. There's bits missing from the Kray's lives that were key and not included in this movie, and i felt too much was concentrated on Reggie's Mrs, Francis.

Its worth seeing though, just for how good Hardy is.

Hmmm...

3 Championship Belts out of 5. Possibly 3.5. Not sure.
Hi ijjy how are you today,

Grumpy Old Men and the sequel, Grumpier Old Men - Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau are hilarious in both movies... and both Ann Margret and Sophia Loren are not hard work on the eye either ;);)

Speaking of Tom Hardy, is Mad Max Fury Road any good? Haven't seen any of the Mad Max movies before, is it a sequel?

I liked it. If you like Mad Max, and the Mad Max world, then yeah, it's enjoyable, even though the story is a bit daft. Hardy barely says a word like! But it is visually boss.

Edit - sorry, not really a sequel. In fact I can't work out where it would go in the movies order. Worth a watch though.

Agree Hardy is great in legend though not a great film, as you stated could be that there as been so much done about the Krays so they went for a different angle but it didnt quite hit the mark

Yeah for sure. I mean it's not a bad film, but feel like it should have been incredible.

Isnt it told from her point of view though? as in she narrates it.

Hardy is very good in it. Plays them both quite distinct from each other.

Watched the hurricane this morning about the boxer Rubén Carter. Enjoyed it. Quality film.
watched it for the first time the other night, I'd heard of the case before but had forgotten about it until lad in work told me he had watched it recently so after having watched Making a Murderer which was excellent I decided to give it a go and enjoyed it, it made my bird cry but that's not unusual really.

Sicario - Was expecting much better TBH. It is well watchable but it's too Hollywood for me to really say it's very good. CIA playing the Columbian cartel off against Mexican cartel with lots of improbable scenarios.

Youth

Paolo Sorrentino's new film starring Michael Caine, about age, trust and the conceptions of life. All set in The Alps, every shot is lovely. THe film is shot in his trademark operatic, theatrical style. Enjoyable but not a patch on The Great Beauty and Ill Divo. 8/10

Also, the oddest Paloma Faith cameo - playing herself.

From Hell - odd film, another flawed Alan Moore adaptation, this time his extrapolation of the Ripper murders. Victorian London is pretty well recreated, it's suitably visceral, the story is compelling if a little daft, and there is some really excellent support from Robbie Coltrane, Ian Holm, Jason Flemyng and several others. The film is hamstrung by a cack-handed doomed romance played out between the Hollywood leads in Johnny Depp and Heather Graham in an excruciating contest of bad cor blimey guvnor cockerneying.
One of those annoying flicks that's tantalisingly got the elements to be really good, but in the end is just a bit crap.
