it depends on what it is currently used for.
if it is a direct link to 'newsnow' that serves to advertise this website/forum, then its fine as it is, but if it serves no purpose other than to back up what other websites have presented first then do with it as you will.

Its basically a central point of the site, all posts in there go on newsnow and the homepage.
However, am working on making it possible to allow members to comment on news updates, at the moment I cant allow it as newsnow would direct to the last user comment, rather than the initial update.
Once users can comment, I personally think it would be best to put it in the everton forum.

you could copy it over to the forum so members can comment there.
that way you maintain the 'newsnow' link unadultarated, and if members want to comment they can in the appropriate area.
i have a qualm with the current system for 'newsnow' linkage.

you can say [Poor language removed] off to me, im not so thin skinned.
with regards 'newsnow', in the days i used to use that site, i would 'cherry pick' the articles i would view, so if i saw 4 links to 'pistone resigns' i would usually use the one that i felt was most reliable.
to maximise the effect 'newsnow' can have, is to use it to bring something different to the audience.
variety being the spice of life and all that bollocks.

giving some special rights and disallowing others breeds ill feeling.
i cant think of an example where it didnt lead to infighting.
for my money, to maintain credibility it doesnt mean being first to a story. a fresh angle, a different take, something other sites just cant reach.
