Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Villa's best defender, who is sorely missed by them, might be hanging up his boots by the end of the week due to a knee injury according to the Express.

Aston Villa defender Martin Laursen is expected to announce his retirement by the end of the week. The Dane has been warned that attempting to play on through his persistent knee problems could cause him problems in later life. (Daily Express)

I guess that's where the Irish 'tater eater is gonna punt his transfer budget on next year.

He's a quality defender mind you.

If there was a single reason why Aston Villa are likely to lose 5th spot it has to be the injury to laursen. Mind yon you, its a fantasy guest on the part of journalists to say;

Villa lose defender + Lescott is a boyhood villain = Lescott will jump at the chance to go back to Villa park.

I'd never say never, but the reality for players who leave us (apart from fat boy), they go to lesser clubs who don't achieve as much as we do.

Anyway, once we lift the cup all this nonsense will stop (hopefully)

Villa will have to pay a lot more than the 10 mill that was bandied about. But Lescott is not for sale, in him we have what will become one of the if not the best CB in England.

It's sad because he's a good player.

However it's not sad because he was always a gurning tosspot who tried to wind up the Gwladys Street.

Be a great day when this horrible **** retires.

That will teach him for being a ****.

Read that Bouma's re-injured himself aswell...

So they'll be looking for a leftback and a centreback - or just Lescott then!...

He won't go. They've got Cuellar, Davies and Knight for in the middle, but only a poor Shorey and out of place Young for the left - pretty clear where Joleon would be made to play most of the time and that's not what he wants to be doing.

And lets remember, they're not qualifying for the Champions League so they'll have no Barry either.

Real madrid will be in for Young...

Yep, should be a good summer for Villa :lol:
