I'm not at all surprised, but give someone a chance, Unsworth had a couple of days to get ready for Chelsea and not much longer to get ready for this game. He took a chance in the first half, corrected it at half time we were much better. I bet he's weighing up his best starting line up, as no body else seems to know what it is. The euro game will give us a better insight and as we are all but out anyway, it's really a non pressure game. Come on give him a chance.

For a post-mortem for the second half:

Unsworth seemed to play a diamond. Baningime at bottom. Davies and Gana as shutters. Rooney on top.

In all fairnness, Gana and Davies played well enough.
Rooney is just... Rooney. He was too hungry for the ball and ended up in positions that doesn't help the team.
Gylfi is the opposite - he is in the position to help, but his teammates simply don't trust him and would rather play in Niasse, who isn't a team player, and DCL, who tried his best but ultimately bossed around by the Leicester defense.

For Baningime, I would not consider Baningime for another game in this position. He lacked positional discipline and coolness if he is to act as a volante. Not saying he is not bad, but he ended up too eager and drifted too far up for too many times. He should pass the ball and stay back between and in front of the centre backs, like Carsley or Phil Nev will do in an earlier time.

Worth noting when siggy came on he had zero interest in getting on the ball, at least Rooney isn't a coward
I am afraid the iceman is not going to make it here. If Swansea offered us 20 mio, we should bite their hand off. Klaassen also...we'll be lucky to recoup half the 25 mio.
Sandro? well he was cheap and we now know why.
In hindsight, it was a dogs dinner of a transfer window and Farhad has pissed over 70 million against the wall.
As I noted earlier, thank God we have sime true blue Evertonians in the team...

never mind next season in the Championship the young lads will be boss. Holgate, Kenny, Davies, beni, Lookman, DCL. Dowell will be back from loan. We are gonna win the Championship!!

I thought Davies was a shambles today tbh

hahahahahahaha

Watching a different game if you thought Gueye and Davies played well.

Totally failed to break up play in the first half, and the counter attack just hosed by them for the first goal.

Both players who go utterly missing when we are in trouble.

Important that the wise old heads, in our team, the leaders who bleed blue, now rally this team about them...I'm looking at you Wayne, and you Leighton...and you Capt Jags.
Things are not so tickety boo at the moment, but I am confident we'll climb out of the slump. With players of the calibre mentioned above, a place in Europe next season is not at all out of the question.
NSNO

Everybody loves an optimist.

Take off the rose coloured glasses mate and take a long hard look at our team for a change.

People defending Rooney....honestly I don't know what your watching but it ain't called Football....he made one pass of note...one.

The quicker he's dropped the better!
If he ain't going to be played out snd out striker he should be dropped, against Watford I would play the team that finished the game (if no other CB's are fit) and Rooney up front instead of DCL.
