Let's start a rumour, a nasty vicious rumour

We've all read about Bernard Madoff and his $50bn scam.

And now slowly we're beginning to hear about its victims - poor Kevin Bacon , we're less than seven degrees separated now!

Wouldn't it be awful if among the victims there happened to be a couple of American businessmen with interests in sports franchising..

Not that I have any single shred of evidence to that effect. But as with transfer rumours such stories do not need to have any basis in fact to be repeated or believed.

Someone in the pub last night, who lives next door to someone who is raleted to a bloke who was in the states on holiday,said that there may be some cheap land in Stanley Park for sale, with planning permission for a stadium. At least thats what I think he said. Then it all kicked off over some Phil Collins music on the jukebox.

i heard that a certain bank has signed a sponsorship deal with a leading spanish club, the said bank is owed a substantial amount by a certain [Poor language removed] club and will force them to sell a particular player to their new club by refusing to refinance the debt, a certain building contractor is about to up the price on a certain stadium due to delays (penalty clause) which will put the stadium in a certain park beyond the reach of the club in question. a part owner of a club is about to see his ski-resort become a victim of the credit crunch and will sell his share to any tom, **** or harry just to be rid of the debt, ken dodd is said to be very interested although it will involve moving to the isle of man for tax avoidance purposes.

I've heard that come May you won't be able to buy a ticket from Oslo to Zurich for love nor money - and all the hotels in Zurich will be booked up with families saying their final farewells to disappointed Gobsh1tes who have booked into the Euthanasia Clinics...

Seriously, just tell everyone who'll listen that you heard that Gillet and Hicks have taken a serious hit in the Madoff Scam and lets see how long before it gets reported as fact.
