Don't know if anyone noticed that I havent been around for a few weeks but here's why.-
A few months ago a friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer and after a very painful battle with the wretched disease he died a week ago.
He and his wife, also a close friend, lived for eachother, they did everything together, had raised two lovely boys both grown up now and they were both taking early retirement to spend time travelling and doing all the things they'd put on hold while the kids were growing up.
Just as everything starts to fall into place time wise, along comes this bloody damned awful disease.
The message to you guys is this, live for now, don't save every penny thinking too far ahead into the future. Live for the here and now. Yes, of course you have to try to do the best for your children and so on but really, you don't know what's around the corner.
My friend was in his mid fifties like me and they had perhaps 20+ years together , now of course, she has to face those years alone without her soulmate.
I can't even begin to imagine how she's feeling.
Anyway, lads, go and give the missus a hug or your mam and dad a smile instead of a shrug or a grunt (if you're a teenager you'll know what I mean). Go and be nice to someone who you care about, don't waste time being angry or falling out over something petty.
Life is too short.
