the city centre will be hilarious afterwards - tempted to stick around for a few drinks and get the last train to manc-land afterwards just to observe!

Great news, the kopites fail and rightly so.

Get ready for a full on kopite lie fest should we get a result in this one now.

Dey woz dat bevvied dey cudnt stand up like

Dem squashed faces woz bang out of order la

Singing bout Hillsboro again

Seen one of dem taking a slash on da memorial lad
This all day long!

What a ridiculous over-reaction by Merseyside Police - they are going to the Magistrates Courts tomorrow to challenge the decision made by the licensing committee to approve the 5:30pm kick off. They're still hoping to get the kick off time changed just 5 DAYS before the match!

There will be double the number of police support units that are normally at the ground, paid for by Everton.

Everton will have 430 club stewards together with 50 agency stewards, who will be focussed on higher risk areas, working at the game and could implement an alcohol bans.

If/when there's no trouble and the match passes peacefully off the pitch, I hope Merseyside Police issue a major apology to the club and the fans.

They're treating us all like absolute animals.

We haven't had a late kickoff derby at Goodison since the Gosling match, right? Whereas there have been several at Anfield in recent years, including last season? Any reason it wasn't an issue down the road 12 months ago but it is now?

How would it be fair to people who have made significant travel arrangements around the half 5 kick off? They're making an almighty mess of this.

Funny how theres never any issues when its at the pit, bunch of nobheads

Read that Sky will sue the police if this happens but it most likely wont

They'll be made to look morons in the court room once previous precedents are wheeled out

This entire farce has been driven by the kopite view on the supposed disadvantage of a night game at Goodison atmosphere. Bell ends.

Really think this is being blown out of proportion, theres never usually trouble bar a few d1ckheads can't understand the big fuss, I think it would be fine at 5.30.

Yep and the late kick off we had at their mud hole last season we had issues outside the ground didn't we because the stewards and police were searching all fans causing bad crowd congestion..

The picture the Merseyside Police are painting of the citizens of Liverpool is an absolute disgrace. The Council spends years trying to correct the city's image only for the Police to destroy it again.

It's even worse when you consider at the on-going Hillsbrough inquiry, the point being made time and time again is that the Sheffield police had such a low opinion of football fans and treated them so, pre-judging people.

Yet 26 years later, this is exactly what Merseyside Police are doing - pre-judging people, trying to drag in draconian measures, telling people they can't do certain things at perfectly reasonsable times of day, IN CASE some trouble might occur.

This is not a Blue or Red issue. This affects us all, and it's just as much a slur on Liverpool fans as it is on Everton fans.

It's 2015, yet if you were to believe Merseyside Police, hooliganism is still rife.

The most galling thing of all is that the same police force praised both sets of fans for their good behaviour after the derby back in September.
