Rubbish that wasn't it?

Horrible experience all in all

Didn't even think they were that good. We were awful though and deserved to lose

Bobby needs to give all the players an almighty kick up the backside, with the exception of maybe John Stones, who I thought played very well

Stones was the worst out the lot!

I actually agree on some points mate but the above sentences do my head in.

All this 'like I said' stuff is laughable.

You knew Lukaku would get injured? No you didn't.

We were crap. There's no other argument for it. Everton played like idiots.

I never knew he would fall over Barry and do his ligaments in no. I knew he would pick up an injury at some point considering we had no fit cover for him. I am sure there are a lot of posts last week from blues here alluding to the same thing. Same as we currently do not have a fit defence, only 1 fit winger, no midfield back up for Barry/McCarthy, we also don't have any fit strikers.

It is the inevitebility of the whole thing, a clear example of the board and manager just crossing their fingers and hoping for the best rather than looking to invest in the team.

Glad I couldn't post last night.

Shameful, Gutless, pathetic display. Honeymoon well and truely over.
We can blame tiredness and the totally useless board that runs this club all day long but you should always show pride in the shirt, especially against those flag waving tools.

Might have been said before (long thread), if so apologies but it bears repeating.

They had just scored #4, YNWA blah blah, and you lads at the ground (in absolute Hades) are defiantly belting out "Allez Allez" in response.

Proud of you lot.

Don't get this pride in the shirt crap.....for me those players tried for the whole 90 however some of them, mainly defence, had terrible games and we got punished. Having a terrible game doesn't equal lack of effort.

Sorry but Pienaar didn't try, he didn't look bothered, just sulked. Rightly taken off at HT

The most dissapointed thing was the lack of dirty challenges, if we are 4-0 down you could at least try and ruin a few of them.

My ratings of the players:

Howard - Has been great this season, but was poor for at least two of the goals last night, especially that ridiculous charge out for Sturridge to casually lob it over him. Seeningly no communication in the entire defence, which is unforgivable!
-
Stones - A terrible performance, constantly caught out of position and targetted by the Liverpool strikers and couldn't handle it. Hopefully he'll learn from it and end up a better player for it. A huge learning curve.
Jagielka - Painful performance from somebody who looked less than half fit. Looked like Gazza tracking back when Suarez was cantering away for their fourth.
Alcaraz - Same as Jagielka. Awful.
Baines - Anonymous performance. Has been bog standard all season long.
-
Mirallas - Top performance, great effort and never stopped even after we went four down. Real good character from him.
Barkley - Not fit. No influence on game apart from one good effort on goal.
Barry - Game completely passed him by and another couple of soft fouls leading to a predictable yellow card.
McCarthy - Didn't notice him the whole game.
Pienaar - Painful to watch. Slow, cumbersome, looked like he couldn't be arsed which in reality was probably because he was nowhere near full fitness.
-
Lukaku - Can't really comment but so unlucky to be taken out by the useless Barry. Thanks for the memories son.

Subs:
Naismith - lol
Osman - No worse than any other of the central midfielders
McGeady - Had no chance to affect the game.

Manager:
Martinez - Looks to me like he picked far too many players who were nowhere near being fit. Jagielka, Alcaraz, Pienaar, Barkley. We were all made up with them playing, but had we known they were going to be so sluggish we'd have wanted them left out. You can't play half a team who can barely run as they're knackered and need to recover from injuries. Needs to decide whether to keep up the pretence that we have money to spend or come out and tell the fans what they already know which is we're broke and nobody is coming in.

A terrible night.

Never been a fan of Piennar the past few years. I know i am in the minority but the only thing i thought he was good at was freeing up space for Baines. Now fantastic as that is to do, he doesn't really create or control like a midfielder should. But as i say i know i am in the minority on that train of thought.

I think blaming it in an "off day" is cheap, we lost because of terrible tactics. Playing such a high line with no pace in defence is what cost us. This ones on Roberto.

Why cant we say an 'off day'? Have you seen that happen to Everton this season? No. Will you see it happen to Everton again? Probably not. So that to me defines an off day.

Anyway, onto something thats bugged me. Obviously it wont get talked about because of them winning 4-0, but am i the only one who thinks their penalty actually wasnt a penalty? Sterling jumped over Howard, never got touched, and got a penalty. Thats 3 (non)penalties in 3 Premier League games for them.

We got well and truly tonked by a much better team on the night -Martinez got it wrong strategically and tactically-
we looked just as hopeless and outplayed as we were agaist M City away earlier in the season -
if we don't strengthen the squad with 4 or 5 good players we will remain a prop up for the top dogs -
we just don't have the depth to rotate in the PL - nevermind playing in Europe-
our bench is as uninspirational as a flat coke! - no players who can come and win you a game -
FA Cup is our only hope and backdoor to Europe with the present squad and with a lot of luck
