Albert Riera nears Anfield exit after criticising Rafael Benítez’s methods | Liverpool - Times Online

Benítez has been linked with the Real job, but Riera does not see him as the ideal candidate, insisting that the football played by Liverpool is functional, not beautiful.
“In Madrid, they ask you to play beautifully as well as win,” Riera said. “We have never played beautiful football — effective, yes.”

And on Benitez...

“In the two years I have been here he [Benítez] has never managed a situation with a player by talking to him. He thinks he is the boss and everyone else is deaf. The dialogue with the players is practically zero.”

Oooooofffff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even some of 'his own' turning on him, fantastic, I just hope they really can't afford to sack him. Although they could see the sale of some assets as a way of getting rid and paying him off, it's become pretty apparent that he's a stubborn one, so would probably sit out the gardening leave, if that was to happen then it's a case of Sven In !!

Dissent in the run-in is just what will make for a fantastic spring time, I can see the ladyboy not wanting to overstretch anything before the world cup, ref's will have seen gbh and there will be one somewhere that will be thinking 'not on my watch laaaar', the finale to the season could reap great rewards for us all.

*oils decking, gets deckchairs out and cleans bbq ready for some fun.
now, where's that list of kopites to invite for some late night debating in early may.

Howard Webb down to ref United v Liverpool Sunday. That's got them wound up already.

Go Webby!

that's who i was offering a tenner to earlier this season, when he was warmimg up, no sense of humour that one, Riley on the other hand was pissing himself and saying he would have it, I told him straight that it was a fiver for him as he was running the line.

following wednesday it seems Msr. Henry had passed something from his palm.:dodgy:

Sven is a great manager even if he is a bit of a nerd.
He's one of the last people I would want to see at Liverpool.

Haha, classic. I don't blame Riera for wanting to get out of there, a lot of careers are being ruined by that fat, bearded tw@t, I'm surprised more haven't come out against him. Riera was originally rumoured to be coming to us was he not? Would be interesting to see how good he really turns out to be if Moyes gets his hands on him.

Mourinho will be there next season. Nailed on.

It would make me sad.

He is way, way out of their league. He's an intelligent, classy, good-looking sort of guy, he'd be completely out of place over there

His contract takes him up to June 2011 anyway, the RS would have to come up with yet more millions in compensation for Inter.

In more comedy from across the park, guess who's doubtful for tonight with his one-hundredth "stomach bug" of the season? It can only be one man, step forward;

Alberto Aquilani.

If I was him I wouldnt let either Lucas or Rafael himself anywhere near my food, they are clearly looking to do him in.

United have to be looking for sweet revenge on sunday after last years thumping at home to that lot. The red shites brand of anti-football will keep them in the game for a while but once united take the lead i can see them running out easy winners, with possibly a punch up on the pitch involving 2 red [Poor language removed] players to cap the day off for them.

3-0 united

From what I'm hearing, Rafael's buyout clause is approximately £15 million. In conjunction with their attempt to try to build Stanley Park & buy players next Summer, I believe it is highly unlikely that he will be dropped as manager unless they miss out on a Europa League spot, which would mean no European Competition money whatsoever.

Regardless, something tells me this team will be able to turn it around in time for a 4th place finish. They'll eventually find their form with the return of Torres, Benayoun, and Johnson from injury, and when that happens, its not gonna be fun for us to watch.

They are imploding, 'stars' that are going to sarf 'arf in the summer won't want to risk missing out on that for their cause.
Just been on talksport, that someone is offering 115 mill for 40% which would mean the 2 americans would only own 30% each and no longer be majority shareholders, it's about 1/2 of the debt apparently, but they said that they will have to find 100mill very soon for RBS or they are going to call in the debt.
It was on earlier saying that the ladyboy has said that if FSW stays then he is off, they've trodden a very fine line in running up debt and then relying on c.l. qual every season.
they can't afford to do all of the things that they want/need to do, if they pay off fsw then they cant afford someone like jose, if they sell ladyboy then they can only service the debt so can't replace him, if they sell the 40% share then they don't have control.
I look forward to the asset stripping starting and them having to accept some mediocrity for a decade or 2. Their stadium tbh will never happen and if uefa decide to put sanctions on the way that clubs can be run then basically they are fooked. Teams will be realising that between now and the end of the season they can hammer some nails into their coffin and put them out of the picture for quite some time. GBH will be weighing up his options as we speak and alex drooling over suntanned euro gangsters.

SAF will be excited at the prospect of sunday and the implications and will probably even allow Wayne to don his 'once a blue' t-shirt for a match winning goal celebration.

You wont be surprised to hear the Spirit of Shankly beauts are up in arms: Frying Pan and Fire? – Spirit Of Shankly – Liverpool Supporters' Union

"How dare you frustrate an Arab prince throwing sacks full of money at us" is the general gist. They seem to think there's a better offer on the table than the Rhone Group - who look like their offer is to reduce Liverpool's debts for a stake in the club and thereby reduce the massive interest payments the daft fcukers are labouring under. The plan, presumably, would be for the playing side of things to benefit with a bit more cash for the manager (whomever that will be) to get them in contention.

But that's too much like hard work and too long a process for the self appointed guardians of Kopland.
