Hi,
I'm a lifelong blue from Liverpool, introduced to the Blues by my dad. My earliest memory of Goodison is sitting on my dad's shoulders at the back of the Goodison Road terrace (before the "new" stand was built). That must have been in the late 50's, so that ages me a bit. My best memory is the semi-final against Bayern Munich in 85 - so many great memories from that time, but it was a close call between the semi and the 5-0 drubbing of Man U (I think it was the previous year), when Brian Robson was running around like a headless chicken, trying to kick everyone in sight. I was at Goodison when Joe Royle scored 4, David Johnson got 3, and we beat Southampton 8-0, another great memory.
My favourite player was Bob Latchford (closely followed by Kev Sheedy), but my most memorable player must be Bernie (the Bolt) Wright. He was signed from Walsall after an FA cup game against them, and left after a couple of months, because he decked someone in training I think. Built like a brick sh*t house, and could move like one too.
I'm really worried about the state of football generally now, and Everton in particular. Player power has driven the wages bill through the roof, to the point where there is little chance of being a successful club based on "genuine" income - where will it end? No idea, but wishing for a sugar daddy seems a bit like me checking the lottery every week.
