Did anyone see Porto V The [Poor language removed] on Tue. Gonzalaz who we had a bid in for before we went for Fernades, was, no other word for it, awsome, he was everywhere back defending, going forward, leading the team (captain) crunching tackles, brilliant creative passes. This gut is something really special in the central midfiel role picture Gattuso skill in defending and Pirlo going forward and thats a hint of how he plays.

I will be really surpised if hes not playing for one of the big Spanish or Italian clubs very soon. Would have been a steal at 12 mill pity.


Anyone else see him play?

yeah, i purposefully kept an eye out for lucho, he was pretty good, im just wondering how pennant didnt get sent off first half, and how mascherano didnt get booked first half.

porto played the better stuff and deserved the win. credit to the [Poor language removed] defence though. that quaresma winger looked dangerous, although he is guilty of the worst free kick in history.

Yup i watched for the same reason- and he looked good.

Got to say though, our bid must have been speculative rather than serious - i can't see that he's in anyway unhappy at Porto, and i doubt that we offered him oodles of cash in wages.

Finally, i think its all my fault that Porto didnt win - I started gloating to a kopite mate of mine and they scored before i finished my text. Happens every time.

i did the same thing, i said 'definate penalty - they are all over you' just as the wimbledonesque equaliser went in.

didnt stop me sending 'JUSTICE' when pennant got his marching orders.

Thought he played well but wasnt outstanding, poor positioning from him sometimes to be honest.

That cat Quaresma on the wing looked tasty though.
