Just found this on the lad, has anyone actually seen him play?

Swindon boss Paul Sturrock believes everyone is a winner in the deal which will see Lukas Jutkiewicz join Everton.

Jutkiewicz will move to Goodison Park on a four-year deal at the end of the season after The Toffees won the race for the 17-year-old.

Swindon could net up to £1million from the sale, while Sturrock accepts he could not block a great opportunity for the young striker.

"This deal is a no brainer," Sturrock told the Swindon Advertiser.

"I think it's a fantastic move for the lad, I think it's a fantastic deal for the club. We've got exceptional money.

"There's no way we could have stood in this lad's way. This is an opportunity that comes along very few times.

"We've got him to the end of the season and we're hopeful of negotiating some deal that if he was to come back out on loan again we would get first offer."

Lukas Jutkiewicz (born March 28th 1989 in Southampton) is an English football player currently playing for Swindon Town. He will join Everton FC on July 1st. Despite being born in Southampton he is eligible to play for Poland due to his grandparent's heritage.

As a youth team player, Jutkiewicz first came to prominence in 2004, when he ended the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland as top scorer - emulating the feat of Wayne Rooney who participated in the tournament four years earlier. Jutkiewicz broke into the Town's first team during the first year of his scholarship, coming on as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Swansea's Liberty Stadium in April 2006, and he was thrust into the starting eleven just a week later, when he gave a hard-working performance in a 2-1 win at Scunthorpe.

Eager to hold on to the young star, manager Iffy Onuora promised Jutkiewicz a professional deal, despite him still having a year of his scholarship remaining - but doubt was cast over the deal when Onuora was sacked and replaced with new boss Dennis Wise during May. When Jutkiewicz had no contact with Wise over the summer, he admitted he was "slightly concerned" about his deal - but any fears were dispelled when he signed a three year contract in July 2006.

Jutkiewicz was patient for his introduction to the first team in 2006/2007, but finally made his first league start of the season in Swindon's 2-0 defeat to Mansfield. The next game, against top of the table Walsall, Jutkiewicz scored his first senior goal to guide Swindon Town to an impressive victory. Since this, Jutkiewicz has added four more goals. Two at home to local rivals Bristol Rovers and one at home to Wycombe, as well as two crucial late winners against Torquay United and Bury, which helped put Swindon 6 points clear of MK Dons and well on their way to promotion.

Jutkiewicz signed a pre-contract agreement with Everton in March 2007. He will officially join the club in the summer for a rumoured fee of £500,000 rising to £1,000,000 on appearances.[1]

Like the sound of this lad.

Watched him in a match on Sky, he was raw but held the line well, nice touch for a big lad and was brave. He was up against an uncompromising lower league centre half and gave him a game. He will need polishing but so do Vic and Vaughan, he just might make it.

The force is strong in this one, he is young, but he will learn.

Lukas Skywalker, arise young jedi (I want it noted I started this phrase, here and now, just me, :P :P :P )

This is why I'm not sure about signing Nugent. Aside from Vaughan and Anichebe we have three young strikers signed by the club in Lukas, Agade and Spencer. Now it might be that none of these will make the grade but you would think Moyes would give them a chance having signed them all himself.

Nugent is not a realistically priced OR proven target for us I believe, stick with the junior jedi's, they are the future.

I think that some of you are missing the point here. Young Skywalker, Vic and Vaughan are similar players, Nugent is more of an AJ type, its a bit like cutlass and foil. I believe we need cover for, or replacing AJ altogether and Nugent gives us that option, none of the kids do.

I was under the impression vaughan gave us the AJ option, i am fairly certain anichebe is very different to both of them in that he isnt as fast but carries more weight used to hustle and bustle holding the ball up and making challenges in the air.

i know Nothing about the new kid Jutkiewicz, and it appears he might stay on loan at swindon next season, so im unlikely to get to find a great deal out about him.

Well he's played some 30 games for Swindon already so isn't a complete rookie. I expect he will go out on loan for a bit but it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't get some game time for us next season.

I think the question with regards to Nugent is one of priorities. If AJ gets injured then we've shown that we can still do ok with Vic and Vaughan. Could we say the same if Arteta was injured? Unfortunately we don't have a vast transfer pot so probably can't strengthen every area of the side and at the moment midfield and full back are more pressing than up front.

Bruce, Nugent can also play the Arteta role mate and has done admittedly only in the Championship but then again that's where AJ and Joelon plied their trade not so long ago, the lad is versitile.

It seems that we have different impressions Suits, to me Vaughan is nearer Vic's style than that of AJ...........

I had similar impressions about Vaughan to Suits but have been really surprised at just how physical he is. He wins far more than his fair share of headers and has proven a real handful for defenders this season.

I havn't seen enough of Nugent to tell whether he can deputise for Arteta or not but that would be very big shoes to fill. Of course if we could get Fernandes then that shares the creative burden around. Heck VDM might even pull his finger out. Maybe not though.

I just wonder why nobody else is in the frame for Nugent only us.
Surely there has to be something putting off the likes of Barcodes and Boro for example. They've both got money and need a striker.

One things for certain, theres not an awful lot of players in the market who could potentialy move. with that in mind there are clubs out there bursting with money dying to spend it. The first big signing and everyone will panic. I think wel see a frenzy this summer. Hopefully we will remain calm and not panic like we did in the champions leauge season.

Contestents to your strating blocks its all about to kick of.

funny thing is, even with all this usual summer fuss, this season I don't care I'm so sure that moyes will get it right.

After his recent success' with howard, AJ and Lescott not to mention his past glories with arteta, cahill, yobo getting stubbs back signing valente (remember him?!) I'm so sure he will get it spot on and I for one am glad I don't have his job this summer.

For all you negatives, yes he has bought flops too, wright, kroldrip, davies and BT but before they arrived they all had pedigree and past success at the top level, so you can't say too much bad about the actual signings other than a bit of bad luck made them not work out.

Really Nugent is not a proven quantity as yet or of quality and is stupidly overpriced by the Preston manager. At this rate Nugent will be playing in the Championship for another season at least. For the kind of money Preston are asking I would rather it was spent on Manny. By the way as I have been away on hols, what is the situ on Manny?
